Gillian Stauffer

Sometimes I do Forestry. Other times I run long distances, hang with the dog, and travel.

[Women in Wood @women_in_wood]

The #WomenInWood event is happening at #CIF2019! Do you have any questions for the panel?

Favourite time of the year (and most distracting!) #blueberryseason #foxcreek If only the bears would share the patch a little more. Spotted 4 black bears and 2 grizzlies from the heli before 9am. #yikes

[Gillian Stauffer @stauffer_g]

This morning I took @UofAALES Forestry Fall Field School out for a tour of the Blue Ridge FMA. Discussed progeny sites, bridge and watercourse crossings, growth and yield, and much more. What a great bunch of incoming students! Really enjoyed my time with them. #ffs #westfraser

[Gillian Stauffer @stauffer_g]

Listening to @MyFavMurder at work as a forester is really conflicting because they’re repeatedly telling me not to go into the forest to avoid being murdered 🤷🏼‍♀️ #mfm

[Gillian Stauffer @stauffer_g]

Hanging out with grade 4 students from the #whitecourt area at the #huestis demonstration forest. Planting trees, learning tree measurements, story telling, crafts, and much more. Perfect weather and smiles all around. #forestry #learning #outsideeducation

[Work Wild @Work_Wild]

Last week, students from Whitecourt had a great opportunity to participate in a Tree Planting Job Shadow.

Students got to tour a tree planting camp, learn about the lifestyle of a tree planter, and even plant trees themselves!

[Gillian Stauffer @stauffer_g]

Finn spent his first day as a bush dog for the annual BRL staff tree plant. #westfraser Got himself a new pair of boots while out there. Mud is this seasons colour. #labradoodle #finn #forestry

[CIF Rocky Mountain Section @CIF_RMS]

The CIF Rocky Mountain Section annually awards the CIF Gold Medal to one @NAIT & one @UofAFS grad in recognition of outstanding scholarship, sportsmanship, & citizenship throughout the years of the program. Congrats to the 2019 winners, Jesse Sumner & @stauffer_g 🏅
