It sounds like a checklist.

A group of us went to Washington, DC, and watched the videos of the October 7th attacks. The terrorists who came into Israel wore GoPro cameras on their heads. They were sending the messages back to their families in Gaza. I heard them laughing, saying, "We're killing Jews today." And their families back in Gaza were screaming at them over their phones, "Kill more, kill more." I won't go into a lot of detail, but they abused women in front of the fathers and brothers, and then killed the fathers and brothers in front of the women, and then killed the women. They did unthinkable things. The citizens of Gaza were driving their cars and their pickup trucks through the holes cut in the fence, and they were bringing hoes and axes, and they were murdering the people in the communities.

After October 7th, the Israelis said, "Hamas, a terrorist organization, cannot remain in charge in Gaza." Now, the Israelis gave, and still do, hundreds and hundreds of tons of food to the people of Gaza. Convoys of trucks on a weekly basis have been going into Gaza since this all began, with food and medicine. And Hamas would confiscate it and then sell it to the people of Gaza. Hamas had built all these tunnels underground. They took more than 200 hostages and kept them for months and months and tortured them. They took hospitals and stored their weapons in hospitals. They dug command bunkers under daycare centers. And when the leaders of Hamas would go out in public, they would carry babies and small children with them. So the Israelis had to come up with a whole new way to conduct warfare against an enemy hiding behind children in schools and hospitals. They would go into whole neighborhoods and say, "We're going to attack this neighborhood on Tuesday. If you're not a combatant, leave."

Now, there were innocent people that died. That's a matter of record. But it was not an attempt to annihilate the people of Gaza, or they wouldn't be there. We can talk about the tragedy of war, but it is not genocide. It doesn't meet the definition. It's not what happened.
