We end the week with great news: @stelong_ just passed his #PhDviva with minor corrections!🎉
Congratulations Dr Longobardi and best of luck on your new role in @GSK!
The work Dr Elias Karabelas (from @MedUniGraz) did while visiting our lab is finally out!: "Global Sensitivity Analysis of Four Chamber Heart Hemodynamics Using Surrogate Models"
Read it 🔓 at https://t.co/hHHKO426Qn
🧑💻: @stelong_@TovRodero@OrodRazeghi
New paper by @stelong_ is available #OpenAccess now on PLoS Comp. Bio.! 📰
Check it out to learn how a combination of biophysically based models and their derived #emulators can be used to identify potential pharmacological targets 💊💻

It's always nice to receive awards, especially when this is your first time while happening on the very last conference you'll ever attend as a PhD student🎓
Reach me today at poster PIB-003 to learn more about our work, and tune in the Abstract Awards on November 11! #ACOP12
Today at 9:20 PDT our PhD student @stelong_ will be giving a talk at #FIMH: "In Silico Mapping of the Omecamtiv Mecarbil Effects From the Sarcomere to the Whole-heart and Back Again"
You can find him in Session 6!
Program: https://t.co/6rnQZ3iDak
At 14:15, in the Whole Heart Modelling - Electromechanics & Infarction room, Stefano Longobardi (@stelong_) will talk about how GPEs Enables a Quantitative Link between Cellular Mechanical Myocardial Properties and Left Ventricular Contractile Function in Aortic Banded Rats
Happy Friday CemrgAppers!
CemrgApp's paper is out. Don't forget to cite us, if you use our interactive medical imaging platform for your cardiovascular research :)

Publishing in times of #COVID__19! Yesterday our PhD student Stefano Longobardi published his first paper, work of two years:
"Predicting left ventricular contractile function via Gaussian process emulation in aortic-banded rats"
Congrats @stelong_ !🥳🥳

A couple of snippets and main reason for my talk on #bias against #women: although #CVD are the main cause of death the mortality trends have NOT been quite like the males trends.
Why? There are biasses at ALL levels (from diagnosis to research).
Gotta keep fighting!
First day finished with quite diverse talks from our members! Side projects, grants overviews, how to write a paper, bias in research and even the physics of a moka ☕☕
More to come tomorrow!
Have you already registered in the workshop on uncertainty quantification for cardiac models in @NewtonInstitute? Do it before March!
5th to 7th June in #Cambridge, check the details (fees, participants...) in https://t.co/u7ai7WnQO6
#FickleHeart2019
Three of our PhD students, Stefano (@StepLongobardi), Marina and Cristobal (@TovRodero) presenting their research in the PGR Symposium organised by @ImagingCDT and @KingsImaging!
Great job! 👏 #pgrsymp2018
Formado por dos millones de tetraedros y medio millón de vértices, he aquí mi primera malla funcional de un corazón real (las fibras son solo de los ventrículos). 🤗
Ahora, a simular la electrofisiología...
