@SebJohnsonUK He is spot on. You cannot build AI factories or grow the industry without reliable, affordable power. The UK has the talent and ideas, but energy is the base layer. Fix that, and everything from economic growth to AI progress gets easier.
Jensen Huang: The next wave of AI is physical AI and it’s coming for the world’s largest industries.
“Most AI today doesn’t understand the laws of physics, friction, inertia, or cause and effect.”
“These are physical reasoning abilities that children and even our pets have.”
“When you put physical AI into a physical object, you get robotics.”
“Hopefully, in the next 10 years, this new generation of factories will be highly robotic.”
“They’ll help us deal with the severe labor shortage around the world.”
@iMiaSanMia@dpa That is a bold take from Lothar. Kane leading the line and Olise breaking out makes sense for Bayern fans, but limiting Ballon d'Or to just those two ignores a lot of last season.
@Kalshi This is how you actually scale industial robotics. NVIDIA teaming up with Siemens and Audi for physical AI means tech that gets to the factory floor fast. Big upside for European manufacturing and more tools for developers building on top.
Harry Kane on the Ballon d'Or: "It's in 10 days or so, we'll find out who wins. Like I've said all along, it'll be a massive achievement if it does happen. But if not, we focus on this season, getting some good wins. We've got some important games coming up, both in the Champions League and the Bundesliga. So that's where our focus lies" [@beinsports_FR]
WM-Trommel für guten Zweck! 🥰
@politico@BrendanBordelon AI is helping us tackle climate modeling, make education more accessible and help people with disabilities live more independently. There will be bumps along the way but I genuinely think the good we can do far outweigh the risks.
Apollo software pioneer Margaret Hamilton dies at 90.
Margaret Hamilton, who led the software team at MIT's Instrumentation Laboratory, developed the onboard flight computers that guided NASA's Apollo missions, including the safe Apollo 11 landing in 1969. During that historic descent, her team's priority scheduling and error-recovery features silenced overload alarms and kept Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on course.
In the picture, Margaret Hamilton stands next to the navigation software that she and her MIT team produced for the Apollo Project (1969).
Vincent Kompany speaking about Michael Olise
• On his contribution to Olise's development: "I think a player with talent like Michael Olise will always make it. He will always be one of the best players. It’s not just his talent, but also his mentality and his eye for detail. He always seems to have the vision to see something that others might not see, and that’s true even in training. And that’s why this boy has already become a truly special player in world football."
• Is he world class?
"Yes, absolutely. Without a doubt. Especially because this is now confirmation of what he has already achieved. He has taken many steps forward over the past few years. But the most important thing for a coach in a situation with players like this, and I say this not only from my experience as a coach, but also from my experience as a teammate of players like that, is that the hunger remains. And even when the guys come into an environment where that praise is no longer constantly there. With us, you get praise for what you deliver and how you work in training, for what you do and produce in a game. And if that is no longer there in a game, then we immediately have that discussion about how we can continue to take the next steps. That’s the role we play. But it’s not about us turning a player into a world-class player. That’s impossible. He already has that within himself."

@FCBayern So good to see this. That injury was rough to watch, been a long road back for him. Ball work already means he's getting close. Take all the time needed tho, no rush with a young talent like that 🔥
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Bayern Munich want to EXTEND Michael Olise’s contract until 2032 and are prepared to offer him €25M PER YEAR.
In return, Olise wants a €200M RELEASE CLAUSE included in the new deal.
Real Madrid and Liverpool remain attentive to his situation.

The science might get there in 18 months. The system won't.
Back in college I worked on p53 gene therapy. We injected it straight into tumors in mice and the tumors went away. Then it went to clinical trials and they gave it IV. Results were lackluster. I asked why they didn't inject the tumor. Too difficult, they said.
Same problem today. Insurance pays you to put a needle in a tumor for a biopsy. It won't pay you to inject a drug through that same needle.
I always appreciate a guy who leads by example and shows up early every day. You can have all the talent tin the world, but putting in the hard work is what really earns respect. Good to see him getting recognized for it.
A divided FDA panel narrowly backed a controversial blood-based cancer test, a step forward for cancer screenings that could offer less invasive methods of detecting a range of cancers before symptoms appear.

Honestly 70 plus goals, three trophies, and a World Cup semi-final run? Kane's having one of those seasons where the numbers just speak for themselves. He's my pick this year.
