Apollo software pioneer Margaret Hamilton dies at 90.
Margaret Hamilton, who led the software team at MIT's Instrumentation Laboratory, developed the onboard flight computers that guided NASA's Apollo missions, including the safe Apollo 11 landing in 1969. During that historic descent, her team's priority scheduling and error-recovery features silenced overload alarms and kept Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on course.
In the picture, Margaret Hamilton stands next to the navigation software that she and her MIT team produced for the Apollo Project (1969).
Vincent Kompany speaking about Michael Olise
• On his contribution to Olise's development: "I think a player with talent like Michael Olise will always make it. He will always be one of the best players. It’s not just his talent, but also his mentality and his eye for detail. He always seems to have the vision to see something that others might not see, and that’s true even in training. And that’s why this boy has already become a truly special player in world football."
• Is he world class?
"Yes, absolutely. Without a doubt. Especially because this is now confirmation of what he has already achieved. He has taken many steps forward over the past few years. But the most important thing for a coach in a situation with players like this, and I say this not only from my experience as a coach, but also from my experience as a teammate of players like that, is that the hunger remains. And even when the guys come into an environment where that praise is no longer constantly there. With us, you get praise for what you deliver and how you work in training, for what you do and produce in a game. And if that is no longer there in a game, then we immediately have that discussion about how we can continue to take the next steps. That’s the role we play. But it’s not about us turning a player into a world-class player. That’s impossible. He already has that within himself."

@FCBayern So good to see this. That injury was rough to watch, been a long road back for him. Ball work already means he's getting close. Take all the time needed tho, no rush with a young talent like that 🔥
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Bayern Munich want to EXTEND Michael Olise’s contract until 2032 and are prepared to offer him €25M PER YEAR.
In return, Olise wants a €200M RELEASE CLAUSE included in the new deal.
Real Madrid and Liverpool remain attentive to his situation.

The science might get there in 18 months. The system won't.
Back in college I worked on p53 gene therapy. We injected it straight into tumors in mice and the tumors went away. Then it went to clinical trials and they gave it IV. Results were lackluster. I asked why they didn't inject the tumor. Too difficult, they said.
Same problem today. Insurance pays you to put a needle in a tumor for a biopsy. It won't pay you to inject a drug through that same needle.
I always appreciate a guy who leads by example and shows up early every day. You can have all the talent tin the world, but putting in the hard work is what really earns respect. Good to see him getting recognized for it.
A divided FDA panel narrowly backed a controversial blood-based cancer test, a step forward for cancer screenings that could offer less invasive methods of detecting a range of cancers before symptoms appear.

Honestly 70 plus goals, three trophies, and a World Cup semi-final run? Kane's having one of those seasons where the numbers just speak for themselves. He's my pick this year.

A new cat species has been discovered for the first time in over 100 years
Just smaller than a normal housecat with leopard-like spots, the proposed name is Leopardus tilcayo that currently lives in the Bolivia Yungas forest
Think it's fair to call Kane the 2nd best ball finisher in the history of the sport after Lionel Messi.
Just the amount of tough, half chances he finishes is absurd. His shooting range, angle bias is virtually zero.
Someone who is 6'2, slow, quite stiff should not be able to finish some of the chances he does. Oftentimes surrounded by 4-5 bodies in the box, he somehow manages to create the angle for a goal.
Just watching his goal catalogue from this season, please shut up saying "Bundesliga tax". Watch the goals. They are undefendable half the time.
Only player to score 30+ goals in 2 seasons in THE PREMIER LEAGUE.
Freak finisher.
Scoring 80 goals in a season is insane! That alone shows you are the best player in the world. Kane carried his team and put up numbers nobody else came close to. He deserves it.
Lamine Yamal appears to take aim at Harry Kane in his most recent statements about the Ballon d'Or: "I think the Ballon d'Or should go to the best player in the world, period. Not to a player who's scored 80 goals, because when you score 80 goals, you get the 'top scorer' award for that. These are very different things that people aren't understanding. The best player in the world is the one that, as a commentator, you’re watching a game and enjoying - you see him and think, ‘He’s a player who is very different from everyone else.’. - When the award goes to the best, not the one who scores the most goals or the one who has won the most titles, then it will regain its true value." Chinese water deer look like tiny vampires because males have long canine teeth that protrude from their mouths instead of antlers
They're one of the strangest deer species I've ever seen 😳
Harry Kane: "I'm not someone who likes to talk about myself that much. It's not in my hands now. It's down to the voters. It's down to the people who decide. So I can't do any more than what I've done last year, and I'm very proud of it."
@TouchlineX I respect this from Kane. So many players campaign nonstop for awards and it gets old. If he keeps scoring and Bayern win big, voters will notice. Let the goals talk!
@washingtonpost this is huge news!! i heard they're testing another drug called vopimetostat with it for people with MTAP deletion. my neighbor just got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has this same MTAP deletion... she's really hoping the combo works. praying this helps her 🙏
