@kofid_19 @sarah_hello_yay My mom did. And I almost did too. I was in the ICU with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Fall 2020. I got real, real lucky. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks.

@ABrokenBattery Wow. I was diagnosed w/CFS in 1992. I was 13. I had extensive PT & coaching re: avoiding PEM. I still try to use those lessons today, although it is so hard and I end up with PEM often (despite being disabled/only leaving the house to see doctors and pick up meds or groceries.)

@starryeyelated You’re smart. 😷 forever. Have been disabled since a careless family member got us all sick in 2020. And my mom… she never made it out of the hospital. 🪦🥀 I struggled to work for a year, then ovarian c@ncer really did me in. Miss my independence. And my mom.

@AislingOLoughl1 @linds_longcovid Take it from a person who was *literally suffocating* in the hospital for two weeks in 2020, while gravely ill with c19 pneumonia—*that* is what suffocating feels like. Masks are NBD. Just fyi.

@deborahbrian @LarryBuhl @MeetJess True. And a lot of us who are prone to frequent pneumonia may have an immunodeficiency that makes the 💉 fairly ineffective. (I have had 2 different 💉 over the last two years and my titers show an inadequate response to them. No wonder I’ve had pneumonia so many times… 🫠)

@AaahSkulls @MeetJess Same, in 2020. At age 41. I was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks. My mom also got it at the same time (we caught it from my dad)… she did not make it out. 😞

@AnciraBecky @LadyChuan Easily one of the most aggravating parts of working retail in ‘20-‘21. Like, if I had to fill in @ checkout, it was CONSTANT. Most seemed to do it because THEY had trouble w/no facial cues, and seemed to be hoping we’d do the same? (I never would—I just enunciated extra hard 😆)

@ante_diluvian @JamesThrot I hadn’t heard about that, but am not surprised. I nearly died from c19 pneumonia in 2020 (and my mom actually did die, in another hospital, 1 wk after my discharge) and I suddenly had issues with word finding and spelling, making nonsensical errors I wouldn’t even make as a kid.

@JamesThrot I had cognitive problems after I was hospitalized w/severe C19 pneumonia for 2 wks in fall 2020. I suddenly had obvious brain issues—word finding, odd typos w/easy words (I can tell it’s happening & catch myself), etc. So frustrating & persistent—doctors still aren’t concerned.

@granitecrystals @raceplaylover @SeanTrende @Heurisk0 My Girl Scout troop also did a ton of camping/backpacking in the Ozarks of OK/AR, learned how to sharpen 🔪, cooked over a 🔥, slept in tents & rustic A-frames, kayaked, earned the Silver Award (in the same troop 5th-12th grade.) Basically did same stuff as my friend’s BS troop.

@WOlookingitup Tbh, in a just universe, ALL cancer treatment should come with complimentary spa treatments. 😏 Those drugs are hard as hell on your body and skin. I still feel raggedy as heck 2 yrs later. I wouldn’t opt for a facelift, but I’d take a facial & massage… 🤷

@scarterok @NancyAFrench @GretchenCarlson @Kanakuk Yes, it’s always been THE place to send Tulsa kids, even since I was a kid in the ‘80s. Frankly it always gave me the creeps, with their logo t-shirts, and the way they were so obsessed with it. Seemed cultish. 🙈🤢

@MeetJess Sad but not surprised. 😞 I’m a cancer survivor (finished chemo late last year) and both of my cancer centers (two of the largest in OK, USA) lifted mask requirements a long time ago. When I go in for checkups I def mask but only about 10-15% of patients do and even fewer staff.

@Grubhub_Care hey, why am I being charged ~$8 add’l on a $22 (pretax pre tip) order for an “adjustment” because there was a price mismatch in the POS system? I auth a specific amt to be charged. But you're charging me extra for a mistake on their end? Feels like bait and switch.
