I got a job!
After 101 days of my YouTube series, I have landed a role as a Software Developer at a insurance/financial service company that serves funeral home owners near my alma mater. This happened a lot faster than I expected and I got quite lucky as I think I didn't do that well on the interview, but I guess they liked my personality.
It's not a huge company or a Fortune 500 and don't have the greatest TC, but for me I'm very glad to have the opportunity to gain some experience as I didn't land any internships or do that well in my undergrad.
Posting these videos everyday has really changed my life this year and helped me finally conquer my addiction to video games. I would highly encourage you to try this if you're also looking for a job.
I have a lot to learn to get really good at this profession, but excited and motivated to put in the work.
Wanna shoutout a couple people who really inspired me:
@ThePrimeagen - I watched his video titled, "From Meth to Netflix", on how he changed his life multiple times and it has really inspired me. Also super inspiring to see his streams, and skill at coding. Really pushes me to get better.
@lukemadeit - I have watched almost every one of Luke's videos at least 3 times, lol. His cinematography is amazing and he has a very similar story to mine, real motivation.
@Baxate_carter - I randomly came across Baxate on TikTok and hearing his advice on college, life, and finances was a real eye opener for me and really changed my perspective. Wish I had found his content earlier in life
@webdevcody - Love this guy's videos. Very cool to see an engineer posting videos about coding and enjoying their craft.
Thanks to everyone who watched my videos or read my posts. All the supportive comments means a lot to me and has really helped me keep going! Feel free to check out my Youtube video for more information or if you don't want to read all this lol.
If I ran an engineering team and I found out my $200k per year devs were spending time vibe-coding SaaS clones to save the company $299 per month, instead of working on improving our own product...
I'd be pretty mad about it.
Anthropic is an extremely dishonest company
They are completely convinced that they have the mandate of heaven, so they feel justified in doing whatever they want
We got attacked by secret unreleased proprietary models and defended ourselves with an open model, more precisely the @nvidia quantized version of GLM 5.2 coming from @Zai_org.
Banning any open model would hurt first cyber security defenders, startups, small companies, researchers and everyone who's not a frontier lab and need on-prem affordable controlable models to compete and protect themselves. Let's not do that!
To celebrate a week of efficiency and let you run 100'000 Luna threads this weekend... that's right... wait for it... I have reset usage limits for Codex and ChatGPT Work.
Enjoy.
