This course taught me that the disruption of everyday things, by means of technology is inevitable. The only thing we can do is embrace what’s to come and do our best to maintain the human contact/connections that we see fit. #DCIM353McCormick
One takeaway from this course is that though social media/our phones give the impression that they take away value from our relationships, they can actually aid in the forming and maintaining of them #DCIM353McCormick
@Helten_0301 Keer, I totally agree with your prediction! With the speed at which we’re advancing technologically everyday, I’d be surprised if one day we didn’t rely more on AI #DCIM353McCormick
@nicolettegoldh2 Hi Nicolette, I agree! I think that AI virtual assignments will start to have even more humanistic similarities and depending on our data privacy, they may be even more invasive too #DCIM353McCormick
A prediction I have regarding digital technology in the future is that social media will become more controlled (I hope), in the sense that our data will finally be more protected, especially with the amount of people unsatisfied with our lacking privacy laws #DCIM353McCormick
@Sac401S Sofia, I've never heard of VisionLabs, but they seem to be a really interesting company. I like how even though they're trying to advance the world, they care about everything that happens on the journey to that world. #LIDC92F
@madisonrobes35 Hi Madison, I have a friend that's interned at Deloitte and they really enjoyed their time there. They seem to really care about their employees! Deloitte seems like a good choice #LIDC92F
On their mental health page they have stated, "No matter what experiences you bring with you, the challenges you have gone through or will go through, we want you to belong at Spotify. You should never hide parts of yourself to fit in." #LIDC92F
https://t.co/NrXRcLteTx Spotify is a Swedish audio streaming and media services provider. It is currently the world's largest music streaming service provider. I really like the fact that their company culture emphasizes the important of mental health #LIDC92F
@Helten_0301 Keer, AI is going to be such an interesting topic to write about! My first time really hearing about it was when Andrew Yang was running for president. I’m sure there’s a lot to unpack in regards to where AI will take us in the future #DCIM353McCormick
@riyapatelru Hi Riya, I never would’ve thought about 3D printing, so I’m sure there’s a lot to learn about! It seems that will definitely decrease the need for certain jobs, so I’m intrigued to see where the future of 3D printing will take us
@nicolettegoldh2 Nicolette, this is definitely going to be an interesting topic! Social media is so integrated in our everyday lives now that when I think about it, it’s actually kind of scary
My EDTP will be on the effects of social media on human relationships/interactions and on the self. We can see a decrease in human interaction and genuine connections. But, also an increase in education and potentially better societal awareness. #DCIM353McCormick
@rujasminem Cancel culture is pretty scary because it takes so little to be “cancelled” now. A lot of people are forgetting the importance of education. Attacking isn’t always the best approach.
@haileysokol Hailey, I totally agree. I recall all the black squares that weren’t posted this past year and I just think it’s wild that people think things like that will make a difference opposed to sharing resources.
Joe Biden uses his digital presence and social media platform to influence American’s to get vaccinated. He is “using social media as an outlet for leadership education” and that is “something that should not go unnoticed” (Ingerson & Bruce, 2013). #LIDC92F
Sometimes the internet stalking is not intentional, but even when it is, because of how addicting social media can be, it can be difficult to stop scrolling down a persons profile.
#DCIM353McCormick A social norm we have in our society today is internet stalking. It has become a lot easier too with the use of social media
