@ElevenVerts @TheBackPage @DaleScottMLB5 Since the runner is able to establish his own base path, taking away a throwing lane is not illegal. The runner would have to intentionally interfere with the ball for there to be a penalty. Freeman’s throw hit manny in the back. That’s not intentional.

Rule 5.09(b)(1):
"A runner's base path is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely."
