@burned1078@scottroots@MavicDronePilot If you look at the full 6 months, the first dip week was a slight niggle so I took 3 days off. Then the second 42km week was a planned de-load week because I went abroad for a family holiday and was due an easy week so took it when it fitted in with the family schedule.
@scottroots@MavicDronePilot Good luck, 6 months is a substantial amount of time to go from 3:10 to sub-3. I just made sure I ate enough food during the block also. Sometimes felt like too much but it was important for recovery. my weight has remained the same from beginning to end even with the extra food
@scottroots@MavicDronePilot My apologies, Iβm not an expert in any sense but from Manchester April 2024 to York October 2024 was 6 months to the day and my main change was a substantial increase in easy volume which after a couple of months allowed me to really increase the amount of tempo and vo2 max work.
@scottroots@MavicDronePilot of what Iβve achieved in the block and that sense of trusting the training and just letting the legs go with confidence was something Iβve never had before. Race day execution was spot on. Hope one day to work towards the times you guys are putting out β₯οΈ
@scottroots@MavicDronePilot π€£ Iβve just put together a really decent block with a lot of high volume weeks over 100km and multiple PBs along the way. 17:50, 36:38, 1:22:30 all within the block. But at the same time, I said to my teammates if something doesnβt go to plan and the PB is off Iβm still proud
@scottroots@MavicDronePilot Thanks both. I was super happy. Iβve had 3 previous marathons (3:44, 3:30, 3.21) but this one was an absolute masterclass from the training block to the execution of fueling and pacing and the feeling of that all coming together after 6 months of dedication is something else π
