It was great to have Jeannie in the lab tested after her marathon WR (> 75 category) in London.
I can't thank enough the support received from @LboroSport and @steveharris24 leading up to this, and @NataliaGalan14, Lucija and Alex during the testing day.

6 month role helping to support Olympic and Paralympic athletes @UKSportsInst@BritishCycling
https://t.co/M2ovc84q3p
Great to work with @_BHealyyy of @EFprocycling over xmas to help provide insight into his physiological response to hot environmental conditions. Testing pre and post a heat acclimation block provided valuable information to shape periodisation & develop race day support strategy
We're looking for a part-time lab tech to support our
@UKSportsInst physiologists as they prepare athletes for this summer’s Olympic & Paralympic Games! It's 3 days/wk from late-Feb to mid-July & could be valuable experience for an aspiring practitioner

Great to have @MicZanini talking Running Performance and Durability to our physiology team with IDT members from across @LboroSport @LboroAthletics @lborotriathlon
Grateful to have presented part of our work on #durability in distance #runners to @LboroSport#endurance and S&C #coaches, and physiologists, this week.
Thanks @steveharris24 for organising, and all attendees in person and online for the interested questions!
Really enjoyed it

All the information on how to apply and details of each placement is on our website - linked in our bio.
Applications close on Sunday the 26th November
@Tyler_ExPhys Definitely something I see a lot in applied practice. We have a range of data from our commercial service with a fair number of MdS runners etc. Would be interesting to discus on your findings and contribute if possible!
@Spragg_Perform Seen a few marathon / ultra runners reach ~3 L/h during Tokyo / MdS heat acclimatisation (chamber based)… I think @andybl0w recently discussed some results from athletes competing at Kona on the Scientific Triathlon Podcast

⚙️ Having ran the testing at the @LightningCycle Winter Camp we’re looking forward to providing riders with greater insight into their sprinting strength and weaknesses to refine race strategy + training
Catch up from last week, re-reading a paper by my old pal @kbergintaylor … Field-testing to determine power-cadence profiles in professional road cyclists. https://t.co/hsCSEPzbnZ
⚙️Pushing torque-cadence profiling from the lab into the field. Some nice results presented with differentiation between GC / Sprinters (Lead-Out & Finish) / Classic Riders
@gareth_wallis@timpodlogar@UBSportExR Would have loved to make the journey over but train strikes made it a challenge. Is there a recording anywhere that could be accessed?
Interested to see how this stacks up with our National Level U23 & Women's racing in the UK.
Paper once again demonstrates the importance of durability which has led to thoughts of how we can best track year to year progression for U23 riders.
Doubling up this week because I forgot to post last week... First one read:
Predictors of cycling performance success: Traditional approaches and a novel method to assess performance capacity in U23 road cyclists
https://t.co/pNbXpXdxfD
At some points I did find the paper hard to read (possibly due to my intellect) although the premise and outcomes seem sensible.
Off the back of the paper I have added the compound score + allometrically scaled power metrics into my performance spreadsheets
