@ronfriedmann https://t.co/ezkQdqqapb This article is probably overstating Apple’s ambitions but am sure a better Siri is coming. Hard part is probably meeting Apple’s standards to try and do more of this on device than in cloud, for privacy.
@lukeburgis Loch Henry (6,2) has a mimetic desire plot line (at least for the first half) as does Beyond the Sea (6,3). I enjoyed season 6 but agree it’s not what we normally come to Black Mirror for…
Super interesting how a false cite can spread. Of course, it did not have to be ChatGPT-generated to cause an issue like this. I have some sympathy for the legal information providers. Checking all this stuff is a very hard problem, and watermarks are particularly challenging.

@nwaisb@FastCompany What I get form this is simply that ChatGPT tech alone isn’t specialized for doctors (any more than for lawyers’). I think people are realizing that the conversational interface and vast training data make it pretty neat tool, but not a substitute for expert task-specific tools
This time is actually different, but mostly because OpenAI finally got our collective attention. It’s been percolating for a decade as the tech has been constantly improving. We are still early; expect a lot of stumbles and false starts as firms figure out a new model

@ZachAbramowitz Yes, and as we become accustomed to this new tech, and as it improves (which is going to happen shockingly rapidly), our expectations will shift quickly.
Jessica: What's new?
Me: OpenAI just released a new version that's much better. And people hadn't even stopped talking about the previous version yet.
Jessica: Are you scared about AI?
Me: A little. At the very least, it's going to change everything.
