WASHINGTON, D.C. — May 27, 2026 — Today, as Nigeria marks its annual Children’s Day, the Save Nigeria Group USA organization extends its warmest, most passionate, and heartfelt celebrations to every single child across the length and breadth of Nigeria. We celebrate their boundless brilliance, their infectious joy, their undeniable potential, and the magnificent possibilities of a bright future that they embody. They are not just the future of our great nation; they are its heartbeat.

However, a celebration without reflection is an empty ritual. As we honor our children today, Save Nigeria Group USA issues a resounding, urgent call to all Nigerian leaders, institutions, and citizens worldwide: We must make child education an absolute, non-negotiable national priority.
We can no longer afford to look away from a staggering reality. Nigeria continues to endure one of the highest populations of out-of-school children globally. On this historic day, we respectfully yet firmly call upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Honorable Minister of Education Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa to drastically refocus, re-energize, and restructure their administration's efforts to dismantle this crisis.

‘Pray continuously’ for the safety, protection, and wisdom of our country's children.
‘Tangibly invest’ in building and subsidizing schools within your various local communities, creating affordable, safe spaces that pull vulnerable children directly into the fold of literacy and learning.

Global Attention to the Forgotten Children of IDP Camps
As the world celebrates, we must shed an unyielding spotlight on the massive humanitarian crisis affecting our children. Verified reporting confirms that over 7.15 million children have been displaced in Nigeria over recent years due to ongoing conflict, insecurity, and climate disasters. When factoring in broader regional displacement, millions of children remain trapped in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across parts of Nigeria.

These children, surviving daily under extreme conditions and structural neglect, have been temporarily stuck—albeit for ‘far too long’ now. They, too, laugh; they, too, dream; and they, too, deserve a Happy Children's Day.
In direct response to this ongoing crisis, Save Nigeria Group USA is actively mobilizing well-meaning individuals and partners across America to gather essential relief items, educational supplies, and basic necessities. We are committed to sharing these tokens of love directly with our beautiful children enduring life inside these camps, ensuring they know they are neither forgotten nor abandoned by their diaspora family.
