@ejorgensenmd @MohlingShanti some studies (Cristaudi et al, PMID: 25060985) have shown the umbilicus to be an unfavorable port site in regards to a composite that included postop VAS scores. However there could be multiple confounding factors. For one, there is no quantification of port manipulation #JMIGjc

@JamesCaseyMD Yeah that is good practice. Multiple studies have demonstrated tangible advantages for smaller ports (less pain, less complications). What kind of trocars do you commonly use? When doing straight-stick benign cases we use sharp 5mm reusable trocars. #JMIGjc
