You guys realize Star Citizen has taken so long because it’s not built on some other company’s engine.

CIG are building a first of its kind game engine ALONGSIDE an actual playable game with weekly/monthly/yearly content. Star Citizen is just the playable and testable version of Star Engine. Just like Fortnite is the playable testable version of Unreal Engine. But y’all ain’t ready to have that conversation yet.

That $5000 “ship” isn’t for you. It’s for a different class of supporter. The same kind of person who donates thousands of dollars to a cause they believe in and in return gets a brick with their name on it. Or a plaque for their wall.

At that level- you’re not buying a ship, you’re buying into status. You’re buying recognition within the community. And that matters to some people. But you don’t need it to enjoy what’s already there.

And I know a majority of the community would back me up on that one.
