🚨 A Northumberland couple are sharing their story after Natalie, 64, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) in 2024.

Natalie’s first symptom was slurred speech, with some people mistakenly thinking she was drunk. While she has since lost the ability to speak and swallow, she remains mobile and determined to enjoy life.

Husband David said the couple initially felt “numb” after the diagnosis but have found vital support through the MND Association. Despite the challenges, they remain positive and have a road trip planned this summer.

“You just have to live every day as though it was your last,” Natalie said.

Their story comes as a Northumberland charity golf day raised funds to support people living with MND and help research into the disease.
