#WorldSuicidePreventionDay
Start listening to disabled and chronically ill people. These communities are uniquely affected and are the targets of MAID programs.
Give people the space to talk about being suicidal without the threat of hospitalization. If they are still talking, they are still alive. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
Mental health conditions are not the result of moral or spiritual weakness, or character flaws. They are treatable medical conditions. Raising awareness and eliminating stigma about mental health challenges can break down obstacles and improve the chance of recovery. #StopSuicide
Does anyone have resources for what the setup of an accessible online textbook should look like? I don’t mean ‘add alt-text’. I’m looking for a standard of heading and font sizes, white space, etc.
@bipocdnerdgirl Please contact the person in charge of our blog submissions for these questions and your submission: [email protected]
Sarah Fader is no longer on our board. I’m so sorry if you were looking to get in contact with her specifically.
@bipocdnerdgirl We could probably do something like a repost of the original and then post the link to it in the article or with your bio. If you send an email/submission the board member who runs the posts can guide you!
Happy #DisabilityPrideMonth, folks! I'm going to be, once again, shouting from the rooftops how important it is to include mental illness in your discussions/activism/support because there's still a lot of gatekeeping in this community.
IS THERE ANYONE ELSE who gets frustrated that yrs, sometimes even decades, into their trauma recovery journey they can be triggered by stuff that needs more work?
I know,rationally,I shouldnt be surprised,but emotionally,after a recent trigger,I could do with some encouragement ❤️
Reminder, summer is coming. Scars may start appearing more on tanned skin. Try not to be an absolute wet sock about it. It’s not your business what happened.
