@aduckle@aduckle, it really is a great book that is packed full of information that can be utilized to increase a nonprofit's audience and the success of the organization!
@David97361435 @David97361435, I completely agree with you! It's important for an organization to KNOW its audience and part of that is what channels that they currently use and potentially use in the future.
@aduckle@aduckle, you're so right! I never really gave this aspect any thought, but we all (as consumers) have standards that need to be met or we will not do business with them.
@Mkhunter97@Mkhunter97, (echoing @aduckle)...I agree. I would add that an organization should be consistently involved with their audience. Our group's agency is in great need of a social media strategy overhaul!

When you've got to step into conversations to ensure the accuracy of information is being communicated. Planned Parenthood's strategy is to create and mold conversations and to keep the conversation flowing. #psc511#strategy
@Mkhunter97 After completing this assignment, I have realized that there is no other nonprofit out there that has engaged so many Americans by using social media. AND this gif...falls right in line with the type of strategy that PP implements!
I completely agree. Unfortunately, our small and local nonprofits do not have the means/funds to pour into social media efforts. However, the use of volunteers may be an option!
@hhyoo9989 @MicheleCheek2 I totally agree with you there but I do wonder with smaller nonprofits is it feasible to expect the same level of strategy? Local nonprofits for example are often outmatched by PP's spending power for ads, audience segmentation and research, and sophistication of their messages.
PP is kicking butt at helping women have access to quality healthcare. They delivers vital sexual and reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people. #psc511b#Strategy
Planned Parenthood's Social Media Strategy is killin' it!
1. Consistently stay on top of the new News
2. Quick responses to mold and guide the conversation
3. Facilitate the conversation
4. Supports its Supporters
5. Appeals to different audiences
