Most scientific researchers and innovators who speak Swahili already do their research in English, German, French, etc. Those societies deliberately built scientific ecosystems around these languages. That ecosystem not translation is what we’re missing.

@Index_49@kenyasgossips Just know that even programming like python, C++, Java etc. the syntax remain standardized in english but comments, concept, variables etc can be, swahili, germany or chinese. Swahili needs a strong ecosystem of education, research, documentation and technical terminology.
@Index_49@kenyasgossips Asian/European languages have had centuries of interaction with, borrowing from, or deliberate development alongside modern scientific traditions. Kiswahili’s scientific vocabulary developed much later and under different circumstances.
@Index_49@kenyasgossips Chinese doesnt face such a problem because it has a long scientific and mathematics tradition especially from the late 19th and 20th centuries. It has therefore built a large technical vocabulary rather than simply translating everything word 4 word.
@kenyasgossips Many scientific concepts, logic and principles lack concise, established expressions. Translating them often makes explanations longer and more cumbersome, sometimes putting the language between the learner and the idea.
@kenyasgossips Kiswahili did not historically develop alongside modern scientific and mathematical disciplines to the same extent as languages such as English. Technical concepts, logical relationships, and scientific facts can be more difficult or less concise to communicate in Kiswahili.
