@myurow@GrahamBarfield Who anywhere reads anything, anytime because she put it together? For the life of me I can’t understand it….people who read the athletic read it for deeply researched stuff, not talking head thin, first take sorta nonsense. It’s insane.
@irinsitu@colincowherd Well 3 out 4 still wins you money. You can’t always be right. FTR The Dutch path would likely require defeating Morocco/Brazil in R32, a Group A or B weaker side in the R16’s, France or Germany in the Quarters and then Spain, Colombia or Portugal or Belgium to just make the Final
@usmntonly That’s not what it looks like: Belgium is the most likely foe for the R16 followed by Egypt and then whatever 3rd place team if they upset the Group G winner (Belgium or Egypt, far less likely would be Iran or New Zealand as Group G winners) in their R32 matchup.
@MattDoyle76 That’s an absolutely ludicrous take. 1.) we couldn’t beat an awful Wales side and barely held onto the draw. 2.) we don’t beat Iran w/o Pulisic. 3) This side has generated 4 goals in 2 group wins w/o Pulisic, that side generated zero goals in 3 games w/o Pulisic.
@BrianSciaretta They were never that good as their 6 goals conceded in the Afcon in 4 games and an R16 crash out illustrated. Their qualifying group was comically inept and they’ve been found out as per usual in all but the ‘22 World Cup.
@stoolpresidente Literally never heard of Didier Drogba? How Didier and that generation helped to heal the divisions of a Civil War? Really? He’s about 50,000x more impressive than any modern American sporting figure in what he did for his people.
@SmbdyRttn@EpicClipVault Show me one person who’s eaten ribs with knife and fork ever. I have never seen anything of the kind save for carving out individual ribs from a rack. Eating ribs involves a deal in which cleanliness is sacrificed for culinary heaven and the stickiest fingers imaginable.
@vurnt22@LivingColour An absolute perfect dance floor songs: other examples from radically different genre’s: night train, Isley brothers shout, Beatles twist and shout cover, new orders blt, abba’s mama Mia, oh l’amour, get into the groove etc. it takes to was perfect & impossible mto follow.
“There was this kid I grew up with: he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together. Things were good, we made the most of it. During the Reagan administration, he helped me buy guns from Ollie North and the money went to the Contras. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him. Later on he had an idea to run IEDs to the Sadrists, even a couple to al-Qaeda. That kid's name was Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And the Lebanese made a fucking statue of the Hellfire hitting his car. And it’s not even in Basra. Everyone knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn't angry; I knew Abu Mahdi, I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we've chosen! I didn't ask about the Syrian airline crew they recruited to track him from the airport because it had nothing to do with business!”
@Civilitas1776@esglaude@BaddCompani@Realrclark25 Weak sauce. Only one party has both passed laws to create non partisan maps and sponsored national legislation and news flash, it ain’t the repuublicans
@AlexTran677026 One side benefit of social media is to see this film get a lot more run than it did when it came out. It went out with a thud, I think because people simply couldn't handle the sheer horror of some of the scenes, but now people are appreciating how brilliant the performance was.
@marceelias They move backwards from the decision they wanted in search of evidentiary support, real or imagined. Them knowing this data was faulty would have changed nothing. Their priors will out.
I guess it’s just an amazing coincidence that basically every decision related to politics helps Republicans, and every decision related to regulation helps fossil fuel polluters.

Having used the shadow docket to halt maps favorable to minority voters because elections were approaching, it would be indefensible for the Court to refuse to apply the same standard now—when voting has begun in Louisiana and is days away in Alabama. https://t.co/ohZDvkMseA
@MusicPills10 They aren’t close. ABBA was pretty consistently a top5-10 charting, sales, touring band from ‘75-‘82. Nothing remotely close to that for Ace of Base. Hell ABBA had a hit musical and multiple movies covering them. Did Ace of Base even merit a segment on I love the nineties?
@GlennCrooks No, Saudi Arabia are total —-, and would not have even qualified via an AFC playoff if the confederation hadn’t rigged the comp for them and Qatar. Would not shock me at all if Cape Verde drew or beat them.
@mjbreuer@scuffedpod Waited for 16 years after we were robbed by Qatar, planned on catching a game w/my dad who coached my brother and I in the seventies. Instead, all 3 of us will be attending nothing. No games, no fan fests, nothing.
