@Scholars_Stage I grew up in an Eastern Bloc country and I think an important part of a totalitarian regime is that it does not allow its people out. I'm aware China is hunting down dissidents even abroad but as far as I know Chinese people are free to travel or move to another country.
@ThomasDownes8@simonmaechling I would agree it was hindered unreasonably by activists but I also agree with sceptics that it's not the silver bullet its proponents present it to be.
@JayinKyiv I'm here for your nuanced takes on complex matters and you never disappoint! As you know full well, several EU allies of Ukraine are opposing fast-track accession.
@charlesarthur There's a saying that became popular in recent years in my country and I think perfectly describes the US's geopolitical adventures:
'to run into a forest of cocks with mouth wide open'.
(Sorry.)
@yarotrof I think it's more conspicuous how obviously easy it would be to shoot down something like this with anything that could be called modern-ish air defence.
@kunley_drukpa Especially not our neighbours who stole all these things from us or faked them because they don't have a real culture of their own, also their national history fits on an A4 page haha.
@ariehkovler OK so I definitely won't update the app, thanks. (I was a long-time blue bird logo holdout as well but folded on that when I had to change phones and finally update to X from Twitter.)
@dcsandbrook That tends to happen if someone spends half of his life in Eastern-Southeastern Europe as you famously have, for us it's all just 'Anglia'.
@DaveHammon12948@Richard56370536@SexMattersOrg By asking if people would accept 'trans women' in women's single-sex spaces, that would likely produce a different result, partly because many are not aware that tw are men, or think they are not like other men, so the wording does matter a lot.
@charlesarthur Just to illustrate this I'm outside atm and just killed another one that I saw crawling on my phone screen, which is somehow a very typical way I get to see them other than in myself. Don't know about the UK but in the CEE region they are very common.
