plastic also ends up in oceans, lakes, rivers etc somehow, it is usually dumped by landfill companies who do not have space left to keep it, plastic in our large bodies of water causes living life forms in the water to die!
Chemicals used in plastic get washed into the rivers and are carried into the ocean. These chemicals do not get dissolved and sink at the bottom of the ocean. Small animals ingest these chemicals and are later eaten by large animals, which then affects the whole food chain.
Aquatic ecosystem are impacted the most in mining. This is because Waste from mining operations is dumped into lakes and rivers, killing the plant and animal life living there.
Mining affects forest ecosystems and desert ecosystems. This is because companies are mining where ever there is minerals or metals. Regardless of the terrain miners will destroy an ecosystem to get to the minerals.
Humans are also affected by mining. There are many diseases that can come from the pollutants that are released into the air during the mining process. Most miners suffer from various respiratory and skin diseases, as-well as, silicosis and black lung disease.
Mining does not only affect humans it affects aquatic ecosystems. Acidic drainage can cause significant impacts on water quality which can affect aquatic life. This happens when chemicals used to mine, seep into the soil and then the water or directly into the water.
