Where the Light Lets Go
Some things are never nothing, though they cannot safely stay. They touch the soul like sunset, then quietly drift away.
The water keeps no anger,
the sky makes no demand.
What once was held in silence now slips from open hands.
I keep the light it gave me,
but leave the ache behind.
Some doors close in the evening so peace can be refined.
