@Jon_Mackenzie Really shows how physicality has moved. "New player vs old player" comparisons can only really be on the basis of quality relative to playing environment. Odegaard would glide through '08 games, but if Scholes were as fit/physical as 2026 equivalents, well then....
@umirf1@Ankaman616 He had a great game today, I think helped by United defensively playing very compact
If the system doesn't need Mainoo to cover huge spaces (which modern systems shouldn't) he should thrive
From the latest video on @TheAthleticFC - My thoughts on Ruben Amorim to Chelsea 🇵🇹
▪️Deserves credit for his individual coaching

@DevilsITDPod How do you think Amorim's tactics might adapt to the Prem? Seen some analysis which suggest sporting also suffer from the big gaps in midfield on the transition as we've had under ETH, but get away with it because it the quality gap in the Portuguese league
It was on this international break, this time last year, that I dropped this video.

Dalot is a FUCKING idiot. He did so well and then got a bad decision. But, the reality is that was a United throw & the referee should be held accountable for a bad decision that led to that action. Isn’t var there for “clear & obvious error made by YOUR referee there? @FA_PGMOL
Like how many more times can Ten Hag coach this many halfs where United play well and are unlucky to not score more, Fernandes literally missed a penalty
We're also seeing a big difference in attack, just because Antony is a much better presser than Rashford
@DevilsITDPod Hi guys, the pod that just dropped on Spotify doesn't have Aaron's audio so it's a one-sided conversation. Thought I would flag it, super keen for this one!
Everyone is gonna jump on the defensive mistakes and call for more floor raising defensive play when once again, the issue is that this team is turning good possessions into mud, bad possessions into opposition counterattacks, and then losing its head once they concede
