@kristinj77 @petersagal@TTBOOK Thank you so much! I’m honored. As you can tell, I tend to avoid Twitter etc- complicated reasons but mostly, I’ve never figured out how to feel genuine on social media. Gratuitously generous and kind comments like yours make me think it might worth trying.
.@theblackpanther movies have sparked dialogue and critique about how Hollywood tells stories about Africa. Given the chance, how do Africans tell stories about their own imagined future? And how might the story be different? | @TTBOOK https://t.co/1l9aboKfkY

I've translated a fascinating report by the very well-sourced Russian journalist @faridaily_ about what senior Russian officials think of the invasion. Haven't seen this kind of information anywhere else. https://t.co/IxhqnrGdb3
Our brief on @TTBOOK is not to cover the news but to balance it - intellectually, psychologically, spiritually. This week’s show is for all of us who’ve been consumed by the war in Ukraine. Share "The Tangled Roots of War and Peace" https://t.co/IfX1TzvaEc via @ttbook
Nine days since the Russian conquest of Ukraine began. The potential encirclement of Kyiv is the focus of my 9th daily thread. 1/25 (Image via @Osinttechnical)
@hhavrilesky I think the main battle in our culture/world is against simplification and polarization. We are so susceptible to binary goid/bad narratives. They’re our catnip. Our addiction. Our failing. So f course your nuanced, amused portrait of human complication is being misrepresented.
The best thing the US can do to help Ukraine is to convince Putin that de-escalation is a less costly and risky option for him than continuing the war. Calling for regime change or assassination does the opposite.
A short thread that's very difficult to write.
Those of us with friends, loved ones, or colleagues in Ukraine — or who are simply in love with the country — have been in a state of continual heartbreak for weeks, and especially in the last few days as Russian atrocities mount.

On 3/11, @Strainchamps is taking part in an interesting experiment — she'll meet Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour on stage to perform from an unseen script, delivered to the stage sealed in a box.

Please take note of how dramatically Twitter has changed since the freezing of Russian assets. Suddenly all those anti-Biden “American patriots” have disappeared.
Ok. Deep breath.
I think we may look back on this as the first Great Information War. Except we're already 8 years in.
The first Great Information War began in 2014. The invasion of Ukraine is the latest front. And the idea it doesn't already involve us is fiction, a lie.
