Putin’s promise of 25K to 50K tons of free grain to a handful of fellow dictatorships in #Africa is a sick joke. The Black Sea Grain Initiative that #Russia🇷🇺 terminated shipped 32m tons of food last year, including 725K tons of #Ukraine🇺🇦 wheat for @WFP.

Predictably, the #African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) @achpr_cadhp halted investigation into #TigrayGenocide
But I was expecting them to launch investigation in Ukraine.
This is why "African solutions for African problems" is a farce.
Great for British Parliament to debate #Somaliland recognition. While no result expected, continuing this discussion will eventually result in formal relations - that is simply accepting reality. Way past time to do so for "the little country that can!"

"The members of the @UN Security Council reaffirmed their full respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, political independence, and unity of Somalia". #OneSomalia
"The members of the Security Council expressed concern about the ongoing violence in Laascaanood, situated in the Sool region of Northern Somalia, which has led to a large number of civilian casualties and the displacement of more than 150,000 people".

If the Ethiopian government doesn't want people to believe @HRW's latest report on its allies' ongoing ethnic cleansing in western Tigray, why doesn't it allow independent journalists and human rights monitors in to see? What is it hiding? https://t.co/nRdozRTcZR
In 7 mths, @USAID, @WFP & co have delivered LESS THAN TWO-MONTHS WORTH FOOD in Tigray where half of the 7 million population were facing famine according to WFP's Aug 2022 report. A failure of humanity. It even took WFP & co 6 mths to complete the 3rd round. Another failure.

When I miss Tigray, I miss my mom. When I miss Tigray, I miss the beautiful smile of my beautiful and courageous people. When I miss Tigray, I think of all the brave members of the Tigray Defense Forces (#TDF) fighting to liberate Tigray from the invaders.

It has been now over 4 months that ALL humanitarian food aid has been suspended in Tigray. The situation today is worse than on the end of the full siege implemented by the Ethiopian government in April last year. Only 56,000 people received their ration in the last 6 weeks.
My recent discussion with Steve Hansch & Annette Sheckler at Harinet Zete’s of @Tmhtv_news on the ‘pause’ of food aid to Tigray. Investigations are being done for the alleged ‘diversion’, accountability systems need to be put on place. Yet we stress the unfairness of holding life saving aid, and call for a resumption as soon as possible. People have started to die. Victims shouldn’t be punished. More at the link:

Hear what Dr. Sarah Vaughn has to say about the war against Tigray in her book, "Understanding Ethiopia's Tigray War." @StateDept@USAIDEthiopia@AUC_PAPS@RAbdiAnalyst
Inshallah hopefully soon I will be able to visit Tigray and fulfil my vow to pray two rakat at the historic Al-Najashi Masjid.
Bless Ethiopia. Bless Tigray.
May the green shoots of peace continue to bloom.
