@shephard_kemb The Mkushis are business royalty in Zimbabwe. In the 1980s and 1990s, Honour and John were up there with Enos Chiura, Ariston Chambati, Chris Ushewekunze, Shingi Mutasa, Much Masunda, Hillary Duckworth, etc
@shephard_kemb Mr. JP Mkushi is a true corporate giant. He is an accomplished entrepreneur & master builder who has created conglomerates in our economy, yet his story remains largely untold. It's time to document the legacy of this industry titan.
Hilmax Engineering changed ownership&leadership as a result of financial distress that had made it undergo corporate rescue which allows new&fresh capital injection, the post rescue started 31 July 2025, it allows a new lease of life &"resurrection" of a business under financial distress
That's why me and you are entrepreneurs and business minded , we rubbed shoulders with great business people 🤣🤣🤣
Will remember to pass your regards, how have you been doing good friend?
Stay well🙏
May you kindly find time to go through the article that addresses your raised issue, it explains the changed @Hilmax_eng times, the best for all involved stakeholders including employees.

John P. Mkushi appointed me as a HR Manager more than two decades ago when he was Executive chairman and owned Field Tech sales a mining engineering supply business, he was already a Chairman of a number of corporate boards, having been a CEO of Shabani Mashava mine (SMM) , he gave me a chance to work with him when he was already a corporate executive giant, he was the Chairman of FBC Holdings (FBC bank), he had served two (2) 10 year tenures as Zimbabwe Reserve bank Non executive director, had been executive chairman for Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Director of Olivine industries & HJ Heinz, Chairman &Non executive director for Edgars, Astra corporation and many more reputable corporate boards,...we separated&he left the country and I continued building businesses and rose through the corporate ladder on my own . I always wished our paths would cross again working under his guidance & leadership was more than Harvard business (practical) school&mentorship. When the call came again to work together under @Globavel I did not have to think twice, hence the new deployment under his guidance&leadership is a dream fulfilled to work with him again, to me it's a short cut to Harvard practical business school. @Hilmax_eng provides that second chance to shorten my entrepreneurship&business learning curve

Week in week out you could not read a Newspaper where John and Honour Mkushi were either mentioned in an article or being appointed to a board or signing off year end financial statements, this family is blessed with great business acumen. All the business l have known them to lead performed well and they left them intact.
When you’re a senior leader switching companies, the stakes are high. A new job might look great on paper, but if the leadership team isn’t strong, even the best role can turn into a career setback. Before saying yes, do your homework: Who’s the CEO? Do they have a solid reputation and a history of good decisions? Who’s on the executive team—are they capable and trustworthy? And what about the board—are they respected leaders with integrity? If the answers raise red flags, walking away might be the smartest move. At your level, your success depends on the people around you—don’t ignore the warning signs.
A big title or a big paycheck won’t matter if the organization is poorly led. The best executives know that culture and leadership matter just as much as the job itself. If the CEO lacks vision, the team lacks experience, or the board lacks credibility, you’ll be fighting an uphill battle. Ask tough questions, talk to people who know the company, and trust your instincts. Your career is too important to risk on a bad fit. Choose wisely—your next move should lift you up, not hold you back.

Absolutely indeed as an executive, the game changes when you happen to surrounded by excellence. A sharp CEO. A principled board. A team that gets it. Talent wins games, but integrity builds empires. Surrounding oneself with mediocrity and questionable moral company erodes intergrity
