Shun'ichi Amari's work was the earliest to introduce associative memories afaik. It's sad how the @NobelPrize folks seemed to overlook this and credit Hopfield with the "discovery"...
This year’s #NobelPrize laureate in physics John Hopfield created an associative memory that can store and reconstruct images and other types of patterns in data.
The Hopfield network can store patterns and has a method for recreating them. When the network is given an incomplete or slightly distorted pattern, the method can find the stored pattern that is most similar.

agents with a natural language interface is novel and interesting, but that interface may not need to require a 7B+ LLM...thats almost half the neurons humans have in the cerebral cortex. somethings not right.
with the FedNow release and digital money applications built this past decade, we are firmly in a new financial era defined by the higher velocity of money transfer. how may financial strategies adapt to these new cash flow dynamics for businesses and individuals?
@Jason@wolfejosh@LAUNCH@ycombinator both @Jason and @wolfejosh can be correct. though it would take a lot of stamina, gaining experience both inside a company creating value and as a capital provider evaluating the value creation businesses externally can lead to successful financial outcomes
@Jason@MetaQuestVR neither meta nor google are true hardware companies with comparable vision science team so this would still likely fall short and waste resources. @MetaQuestVR is better off focusing energy on creating an extraordinary facebook experience while wearing a visionPro
@BrantlyMillegan i agree that building a social graph would be useful, though i think a stronger emphasis is needed on building selective information sharing methods. eric hughes stated it elegantly that the essence of privacy is to empower individuals to reveal information only when they desire
@hubermanlab theres still little rigorous mapping between the neural circuitry of selective attention and clinical adhd therapies. maybe investigate the reasons why this disconnect exists? a review i worked on with tirin's lab may have some insights but a huge gap remains unfortunately.
