@LaskerF61740 I feel Germans also use the word "Lohn"/"Lohnzettel" a lot more. Or even "Verdienst". Instead of just "Gehalt". Technically they are legally quite different, but I also don't know many know those details.
It's like with theft and robbery, where people don't care to draw the line.
