🚨 The Islamic Republic’s massive Hormuz minefield was largely a bluff built on decoys, while even the real mines were reportedly poorly deployed.

According to reporting cited by @SullyCNBC, shipowners said many suspected mines were decoys, including inflated trash bags.

Separate reporting citing U.S. officials said more than 200 mine-like objects were cleared from the main shipping lane, but only around 11 were actual mines, with few properly deployed.

This is how the Islamic Republic operates. Psychological warfare, posturing and manufactured displays of strength are central to its playbook, from grandiose slogans and choreographed military spectacles to exaggerated threats and cheap decoys designed to scare the world.

In Hormuz, it worked. A small number of real mines mixed with decoys frightened shipowners, drove up war-risk insurance and helped choke commercial traffic.

The Islamic Republic didn’t need to control Hormuz. It needed the world to believe it did.
