Finally, i decided to come out of Zerodha. I have been trading on Zerodha for 4 years and investing for last 9 years.
I am in tech field for more than two decades. I know there will be technical glitches and no one can guarantee 100% uptime. But the difference between great and bad business is how they deal with these issues.
My average number of orders each day are in the range of 1200 (Rs. 20 per order). This year from Jan 1st 2024, I have paid Rs. 27,78,560.00 (Rs. 27.8 lakhs) to Zerodha as brokerage. Zerodha is happy to charge money for these orders. But when there is an issue, it asked me to check with the exchange directly. They are also kind to provide BSE website address.
I may be just one more customer for Zerodha out of thousands of customers but for me Zerodha is the only trusted broker so far. And that trust is broken now. I do not want to engage with unprofessional (you disowned your responsibility to provide service), unethical (you did not prove clean), unreliable (after placing order I do not know what will happen) business.
I lost Rs. 18 lakhs because of technical glitch on June 12th. I am not worried or sad. I will earn back in a week. But this is more than yearly salary for many Indians. Imagine if this happens to a person with capital of Rs. 10 lakhs. They will get into depression and may end their life. Please deal with these issues with some empathy and professionalism. I started my journey with Rs. 2 lakhs capital. I know what it feels to lose even Rs. 100.
I have initiated the process to move to a different broker and will be done in a week. I wish all the best and success to all at Zerodha and their customers. I will not miss watching @Nithin0dha' s webinars. @zerodha @moneycontrolcom @livemint @BSEIndia @CNBCTV18Live @CNBCTV18News @ETMarkets
