The OGs of search. The men who made it all happen. Stanford 1990s. In the thick of it all, my late husband Prof Rajeev Motwani, his students Larry & Sergey, Svetlozar, Prof David Cheritan, Prof Hector Garcia…Heady times. They knew the impact their math was going to have. They knew they wanted to bring all the information of the world into the hands of each human being. For free. And make the world a better place. When I look back at all of this, I feel fortunate and humbled that someone as non-technical as me, got a chance to interact with these great minds and see them work together, dream together and pull off miracles. My only contribution to this brilliant soup, was me chanting the Gayatri mantra driving from our apartment to Rajeev’s office on the day his tenure decision was announced at Stanford(around 1992-93). He was unsure he would get tenure. I never understood why. Anyways, I walk into his office chanting and bingo the email arrives, the second i walk in, saying that he had got tenure. In his typical generous fashion Rajeev attributed great luck to my walking into his office… maybe he was right. 🤔
A simple example: days of the week, which lie on a circular path in models’ activations.
Steering linearly from Monday to Friday gets you incoherent outputs in between. Steering along the circular manifold means you cleanly shift from Mon → Tues → Wed → Thurs → Fri. (5/8)

This program offers authors the opportunity to receive free, automated, and actionable feedback on their manuscripts before the final deadline, private to the authors. It is a completely optional service that is kept strictly private to the authors and will not be used in the review process.
