#ICPPA2026: On the sideline of this PEN Plus Regional strategy to adress severe NCDs in Africa,I had the honour to meet my mentor @AlexGasasira Rep of @WhoTanzania.
We had mutual conversations on how to maximize efforts on ground to shape the future of heathcare and beating NCDs
If NCDs are among the leading causes of death in our countries, they must be visible in national budgets.
At #ICPPA2026, I called for greater domestic investment in NCD prevention and care, stronger accountability, and financing systems that are sustainable and aligned with the realities facing our populations.
Investing in NCD prevention and care is an investment that protects productivity, strengthens economies and safeguards the human capital on which Africaâs future depends.
Opening the Third Open Expert Meeting on the Revision of the WMA DOT in Vatican, WMA President @mdjkitulu called for a stronger commitment to equity in health data governance and medical research.

The Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak continues to evolve rapidly, with increasing case numbers and geographic spread.
Sustained vigilance, rapid case detection, strong cross-border coordination, contact tracing and continued community engagement remain crucial to the response.
To date, #DRC has reported 105 confirmed cases and 10 confirmed deaths, alongside 906 suspected cases and 223 suspected deaths. #Uganda has reported 7 confirmed cases and 1 confirmed death.
@WHO is working closely with national authorities and partners in both countries to strengthen all outbreak response measures.
I commend the health workers and response teams working under difficult conditions to halt the spread of the virus and protect communities.
