BREAKING NEWS // Angela Rayner has granted permission for M&S to demolish their Oxford Street flagship store, overturning a decision by the previous Secretary of State.
The chance to set a vision for a more sustainable and creative Britain that reuses its built-heritage has been squandered. Green growth? Not on this evidence.

It’s #WorldRiversDay.
In 6,000km of #rivers across the #Clyde catchment, we only find these black-tailed trout in fewer than 10km.
This is the result of metal toxicity - part of our industrial legacy and still killing fish.
We can do better. #pollution#Scotland
Looks like more bad news for #GlasgowHeritage = walked past the ABC and noticed that a Dangerous Building Notice has been served. It requires the owners to demolish and remove the front and side facades with work to be completed by 9 December 2024. Is this game over…🤔🤷♂️😢?
A new species in our river?
Yesterday, we found a ruffe in the #Kelvin subcatchment. This is a first for us in 22 years and nearly 3,000 samples.
This is an invasive, non-native species. We know they’re in the local canal and also the adjacent Lomond catchment.

Fowlis Easter - the most complete medieval church in Scotland - is closing and could go on the open market at the end of the year. The loss of it would be catastrophic. I see new wonderful details every time I visit. Come and have a look with me:
Every year, @Scotgov collects data to find out how much vacant and derelict land there is in Scotland, which is publicly released.
For the first time, you can now view this data on an interactive map to find out about sites near you.

Visited the newly opened #Wyllieum art gallery at #Greenock Ocean Terminal yesterday. Good to read more about the Straw Locomotive and Paper Boat, and many others which showcase #GeorgeWylie's great sense of humour. Love the panoramic view of #riverclyde as backdrop 🏞️😎🌞❤️
