@LawrenceLepard@mikemcglone11 Can we all please just agree that Bloomberg gave him a talking point that he is contractually obligated to repeat until some undisclosed person has sufficiently stuffed their own bags?
Ok, it looks like we cannot prevent any bitcoin wallet company/project from at some point releasing malicious firmware to fuck with your coins at some point in perhaps the distant future and the consensus seems to be that only the bitcoin core software has sufficient scrutiny/eyeballs on it to provide reasonable assurances that the wallet generation aspect of the software is "saifu."
In other words, if you're not a developer capable of building your own software from scratch, the only options that do not involve third-party cooperation/custody and which provide reasonable guarantees of safety are multi-vendor, multi-sig or @JWWeatherman_ suggestion of just using bitcoin core with an offline linux device.
Am I wrong about this? Am I missing something?
For example, looks like presently @Bitkey would be a great device for 90% of people out there, but nothing prevents them from releasing some firmware in the future that steals your coins, or from releasing software that gives them access to the keys on their cloud or on your app-device, or that their hardware contains some sneaky, sleepercell component they activate in the future.
The present sentiment is that trust is not permissible, i.e., trusting anyone is negligence on its face.
I am just saying this all outloud because no one has a good answer that could meaningfully help anyone who really wants to get into bitcoin feel good about doing so in a self-sovereign way.
If you're like me, and can do things for yourselves, fine. But if we want to get new people into bitcoin, I have not heard a single acceptable suggestion that doesn't involve rolling dice, pulling wifi components out of computers, installing nerd-linux software, etc.
If someone comes to me and is really interested in getting into bitcoin and they want to trust me to act as their third-party Uncle Jim to help them, we're ready to go, but if the want to do it themselves I have literally no idea what to tell them that doesn't involve 1,000 hours of studying.
Here it is:
ITALY GATE: Barack Obama and Matteo Renzi, former PM of Italy, orchestrated the overthrow of the U.S. government on November 3, 2020.
The single most damning testimony of the 2020 election.
Maria Zack: “Today, I’m going to play an audio tape that should shock you all. It will shock America.”
Stephen Serrafini, along with General Claudio Graziano, a board member of Leonardo Aerospace, were involved. Italian intelligence provided the US with documents, calls, and photos of CIA agents—all funded by Barack Obama, who diverted $400 million in cash sent to Iran, funneling it through the Dubai to operatives in Italy and Merrill Lynch in Switzerland.
Affidavits and Evidence:
An affidavit delivered to the U.S. Congress from an Italian defense company employee, CONFESSING “Work to change the results of the US election.” Audio evidence was also acquired from within the CIA and the State Department—Larry Johnson.
Maria Zack
“Italian Intelligence Services. She said, uncle, Arturo came home and said he doesn’t understand why we’re stealing America’s election.”
“The Italian Intel Services reached out to us on Nov. 18. They said something happened. We’re watching a coup d’état in the United States of America. They were fearful of meeting with anyone. Two affidavits were delivered to Congress, and they came from Italian citizens.”
“Today, I’m going to play an audio tape that should shock you all. It will shock America.”
“A defense contracting firm experienced unusual activity, with people coming in and out that the intelligence services witnessed—people traveling from Frankfurt into the Italian U.S. Embassy in Rome on Via Veneto. This allowed individuals to come forward and, according to Italian intelligence services, work with Leonardo to change the results of the United States election.”
“The audio you are about to hear (audio recording, 4:27 mark) comes from an individual who is a member of the CIA and State Department. His name is Larry Johnson. Many of you may not know, but I personally hand-delivered a letter to Donald Trump on Christmas Eve 2020, detailing who stole the election, where, and how. My primary goal was to bring one of the people from the satellite center, Arturo Della, to America because he was willing to testify.”
“There were people who refused to assist, whom I thought would. But what was most shocking was this voice recording, which I will play now.”(audio recording, 4:27 mark)
Maria Zach continues:
“Now you should be asking me, who are they that actually coordinated and conspired the overthrow? Ok
Stefano Serafini, on your left, is actually a member of our State Department who retired just days before the election. He was coordinating with General Claudio Graziano. General Graziano is also, at the time, the EU Commander, and they were meeting across the street at the Saint Regis Hotel, and it was with Ignacio Moncada, who is the CEO of Fata, which is the fat SBA, which is a subsidiary of Leonardo, one of the largest defense contracting firms in the world. They are the largest in Italy, and they receive numerous United States military and intelligence contracts. That should frighten everybody right now. No, they were meeting in his hotel, and in March 2020 they were coordinating this plan. The Italian intelligence services actually provided me with a cell phone number for the go order, and it goes to General Graziano. So then you ask, well, they concoct the plan. They have to go get the IT guys. Who’s gonna do it? Well, they already had a guy. His name is Charles Robinson. He is a telemetry expert. He came in a week prior to the election of November 2020. He uploaded spike software, and he had traveled from Frankfurt.”
📝 In other words: If you thought 2016 was bad, 2016 was just an attempted overthrow; 2020 was the overthrow. Precisely why Chris Krebs Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) designated November 3, 2020 the most secure election in US history.
@SeedOilDsrspctr@Mandrik How did all of you get beta invites?? Did I forget to tell Blizzard I'm a hardmoney anarchist or something? What's the secret code?
America’s corporate governance system is broken, and it’s killing public companies. Look no further than Cracker Barrel: Decades of brutal mismanagement have seen one incompetent CEO after another walk away with a massive paycheck while customers and actual shareholders take a beating.
Why does this keep happening? Because proxy advisory firms like ISS are corrupt. They blindly rubber-stamp failing boards year after year, protecting the corporate elite while burning shareholder value to the ground.
The root of the rot is index funds. There's no question that indexing one's money is a smart financial move for most people. But just because you passively index your investments doesn't mean your corporate votes should be handed over to the managers of your fund so they can play politics. Right now, passive funds hold massive, unchecked voting blocks while having zero skin in the game themselves.
It is time for a simple rewrite of the rules: We need to index the votes of index fund investors.
Passive index funds should be forced to automatically split their votes to proportionately mirror those of retail and active institutional shareholders — the people actually doing the research, risking their capital, and fighting for performance in the companies they hold shares in. No more rubber-stamping. A change like this will immediately strip corrupt gatekeepers like ISS of their toxic influence.
True accountability happens when lazy, overpaid boards actually answer to the stakeholders they represent, rather than screwing them over.
Actual, logic-driven governance when your money is passive happens when your vote passively follows the voting decisions of the actual market.
We need to stop letting passive capital protect active incompetence. By stripping index funds of their arbitrary voting power and empowering engaged investors, we will finally torch corporate cronyism and usher American capital markets into a golden age of capitalism.
Now if only people like us could find a way to have an organizational principle around which to galvanize so that our power as a group could be leveraged. The unfortunate reality of radical independent thinkers is that they are less attracted to group effort beyond their immediate families/community. The irony of being aligned with objectively good, small-government principles is that big, stupid governments aggregate a lot of power.
