For those who don’t understand (or chose not to):

(1) this was a case in which the lack of standing, once the bonfire had been lit, was **conceded** (as stated in the judgment). I’d asked the court to nonetheless take the exceptional course to determine the legal issue; it declined to do so because I was not a resident of Belfast to challenge BCC standing orders.

(2) this was an emergency case from 10 July 2025; which became academic because the bonfire was lit after PSNI refused to assist BCC.

(3) a fresh challenge from a citizen of Belfast to BCC standing orders is already getting underway raising the same legal issue.

A great evening in Dromore Mini 12th and for the annual opening and re-dedication of the Arch. We may have lost the sunshine, but we still got our ice-creams in Grahams Ice-Cream Dromore! It was good to see so many out on parade and out supporting, with local DUP Councillors Tim McClelland , Paul Rankin and Mark Baxter.
