Today my daughter’s school bus took 2 hours to travel just 2 km in Varthur/Gunjur road.

For those 2 hours, I sat there as a parent feeling completely helpless.

I work hard. My wife and I pay lakhs in taxes every month. We took a huge home loan mainly so we could live close to our daughter’s school and give her a safer, easier childhood.

And yet, this is what “2 km from school” means here.

In the last year alone, we have seen a school bus topple, a woman suffer serious injuries after a fall, a biker almost lost his life after falling because of a pothole, and many more incidents that never become headlines.

Every day, ordinary people here tweet, email, complain, follow up and plead with authorities.

We are not activists.
We are not fighting for a political party.
We are parents, employees, families and taxpayers asking for one basic thing:

Please give our children a safe road to come home on.

Today, more than the traffic, what broke me was the feeling that despite doing everything a responsible citizen is supposed to do, I had absolutely no power to protect my own child.

If anyone knows how ordinary citizens of Varthur/Gunjur can reach someone with the authority to actually intervene, please help us.

Goons in Bengaluru Show No Fear of Law Early-Morning Robbery at Shantinagar Road

Robbery cases in Bengaluru are becoming disturbingly common, and it is clear that these street goons have absolutely no fear of law or consequences. Even at 4:30 AM, when most people expect the roads to be silent and safe, criminals are roaming freely and targeting innocent citizens.A shocking incident took place on Shantinagar Road, where a person travelling on his two-wheeler was reportedly robbed by three scooter-borne goons. The gang first overtook the victim’s scooter and snatched the key while still in motion, deliberately putting his life in danger. As the victim struggled to balance his vehicle, two of the criminals jumped in, robbed him ruthlessly, and fled the spot without any hesitation.This kind of organised street robbery clearly shows how emboldened these criminals have become. They roam the city like they own the streets overtaking, threatening, and attacking innocent people. Such behaviour isn't just criminal, it's pure cowardice. These goons don't have the courage to earn an honest living, so they resort to cheap tactics and violence.The rising number of such incidents raises a serious question: Where is the fear of law? Why are these goons moving so confidently on public roads, as if no police action can touch them? Bengaluru residents deserve safe streets, not highways ruled by criminals.Authorities must intensify patrolling, especially during early hours, and ensure that such gangs are tracked down and punished. Until then, ordinary people continue to be the victims of criminals who misuse the darkness to commit crimes without shame or fear.
