When I shoot a segregated wedding I always make sure to password protect the album and send it directly to the bride to avoid this from happening (oftentimes the groom has booked me)

A lot of sisters these days don’t want cameras during their wedding but she will still get the whole wedding recorded…

Meaning… she will watch it back mostly likely with her husband and the rest of her family and we have no hijab on in the clips

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not a light matter. It is a great amanah. Islam is a religion of mercy, not hardship. Allah says in the Quran that He does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear, and He also allowed those who are sick or in difficulty to make up their fast later. So our scholars explain that pregnant and breastfeeding women have this concession if they fear harm for themselves or their babies.

But the real issue is that many sisters still feel guilty. Some fast while their bodies are weak. Some stop fasting but carry emotional pain, thinking their Ramadan is “less.” This should not be the case. Your Ramadan is not reduced because you are obeying Allah through His mercy. Choosing the concession Allah gave you is also an act of worship.

There is a beautiful story from the Sunnah. The Prophet s.a.w once shortened the prayer when he heard a baby crying, because he knew the mother would be distressed. This shows how much Islam honours a woman’s emotional and physical state. Your child’s wellbeing is part of your ibadah.

Dear mothers and future mothers, your Ramadan is not on pause. Your patience, your tiredness, your sleepless nights, your dua while carrying or feeding your child are all acts of worship. Sometimes, protecting your health and your baby can carry more reward than fasting with harm.

May Allah reward every mother and grant ease to every woman this Ramadan. Ameen

I can’t wait to have another baby tbh. I’m giving my kids the childhood I wish I had, mine was so lonely and Eid was always a drag. Even now as an adult, the lack of siblings = minimal help. My kids will have best friends for life 🥹

They told mothers formula was modern and better. They didn't tell them the water could kill their children. In the 1970s, Nestlé ran aggressive formula campaigns across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, handing out free supplies just long enough for breast milk to stop. When the free samples ended, mothers had no choice but to buy more. What Nestlé failed to warn was that formula required clean water, something many communities didn't have.
Mothers mixed it with contaminated water or diluted it to make it last. Babies fell sick and died from malnutrition, diarrhea, and disease. All while formula was marketed as scientific and superior, with hospitals and leaders paid to promote it. This wasn't innovation. It was exploitation.
