The Paramount–Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery merger threatens to give consumers fewer choices and have a chilling effect on the critical journalism Americans rely on.
Although the majority has failed to hold a formal hearing scrutinizing this merger, I refuse to stay silent. Today, along with a group of my colleagues, we are holding a hearing to publicly examine these risks and fight for workers, artists, and the American people.
Last night I asked random Black men -of all ages- I encountered at ATL, how they were gonna vote. Listen to what they answered.
And let me tell you something, do not underestimate the elders. Grandmas, do your thing.

Do you remember other elections in your life?
People voted. People were anxious. People hoped their candidate would win.
But it wasn't like this. People weren't panicked about a civil war. People weren't nervous about violence. People weren't terrified about what someone would do if they lost.
It all started with him.
But it doesn't have to be like this.
Vote for her.
It is hilarious to hear Dana Bash asking detailed policy questions and follow-ups to Harris when this is virtually never done with Republicans and absolutely would not happen with Trump. I mean, I support journalism and she should do this, the double standard is just interesting.
I can’t think about Joe Biden without tearing up a little.
This man ran for president 5 times and lost then enthusiastically backed Obama and played the establishment number two to the greatest leader of his generation.
He wanted to run for president in 2016 but couldn’t because his son Beau died and he was too wracked with grief.
So he comes back in 2020, saves the country from Donald Trump and despite being a career centrist, proceeds to have the most pro-union, pro-working class administration in 80 years, pulls the country out of Covid, pulls us from the economic disaster of Trump into the best economy in the world.
He’s then betrayed by the media class and has to drop out because he’s too old for them. He steps down, for the good of the country, and immediately turns around and full-throatedly endorses the the first Black woman Presidential candidate finalist in U.S. history.
This man.
Clarence Thomas is 75. Samuel Alito is 74. Roberts and Sotomayor are 69. If Trump wins in November, he is virtually guaranteed to appoint replacements for 2 of these justices, if not more.
On the ballot this November is the Supreme Court majority for the rest of our lives. Biden may not be your favorite choice, but the alternative - Trump - means the Court is untouchable for decades. That'll have massive implications for abortion protections, contraception protections, fair map protections, democracy protections. If we want any hope of rebalancing this dangerous imbalance (wherein insurrection sympathizers are literally ruling on cases related TO THE INSURRECTION), November is our one and only shot.
Chris Licht, spare us your defender of democracy bullshit. You’re in show business. You got hired to get ratings for CNN. If that means platforming a racist traitor so he can lie, mock his sexual assault victim and get applause for it, you’ll do it. https://t.co/BO19sAQgXn
