@Gingerblast Get back to me after TSR rolls out the AI DM patterned after Matt Mercer.
Players will subscribe to their VTT, but modules to play, and subscribe to AIDMs. Get Virtual Matt Mercer, or Brennan Lee Mulligan…
That’s a trillion dollar industry right there…
@Blackmoor_Film I don’t bother giving my players a map - all my games are on VTT.
And yes - asking people to draw maps was tedious back in the day, and it’s a part of the game that has withered away.
Like THAC0. Good riddance.
@RageKagexRugger Now that I think about it, it probably has to do with overhang.
If the roof of the building covers the outdoor platform, it’s a porch.
If not, it’s a deck.
@D20Gary I wish I’d started sooner.
Everything about gaming online has been better at my paid tables - attendance, inclusion, roleplay, camaraderie..
It makes me regret spending years trying to build online games for free.
@SSkorkowsky Here’s my unpopular opinion - I’m never surprised by what my players do.
Maybe it’s because I run very sandbox-y games, or perhaps it’s because of a more serious game tone but when DMs say “your players will always outwit you” I find myself wishing that were true.
@EpicSoloGames Gumshoe! It’s an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC system for presenting rpg mystery adventures, with sourcebooks for just about any theme you could name. I cannot recommend it highly enough! https://t.co/sllshHtADj
@templin_m It would depend on where I am, geographically. Southern California, or Washington State - sure. But if I’m up in the Applachian hills, then absolutely not.
@yum_dm Rather than calling it “fail forward,” use more modern storytelling mechanical language and call it “success with a consequence.”
Dungeon World, Blades in the Dark, Candela Obscura - they’re all built around that core mechanic.
