Asked @GeminiApp what future @X holds for academics in the next 5-10 years and it said "Unless there is a major shift in leadership or moderation, many academics view it as a "breaking news" or "outrage" site" hahshdhdh the collective contempt: captured

We heard you!
#NASA #Earth #Philippines

Even before the #Artemis II mission, the Philippines has been photographed several times in the past years by astronauts while they are in orbit.
Here's a photo of Luzon from around 346 kilometers above taken during the International Space Station (ISS) Expedition 23 back just a day before the elections in May 2010. #Philippines #space #NASA
🚨 UNITED PASSENGER CATCHES INSANE NASA ROCKET LAUNCH FROM PLANE WINDOW — FLIGHT ATTENDANT LOSES IT MID-AIR
A United flight just turned into a front-row seat to history.
A woman captures the exact moment NASA’s Artemis II rocket launches… straight from her window at 30,000 feet.
And then you hear the flight attendant:
“15 years of flying… I’ve been praying to see something like this.”
• Rocket blasting through the clouds
• Crew calling it a “once in a lifetime” moment
He said he flew to Florida multiple times just to see a launch…
Canceled. Every time.
And then this happens midair.
What are the chances you randomly look out your window… and see history taking off?
During the period when the United States governed the Philippines from 1899 to 1946, the definition of what counted as a “U.S. university” briefly extended beyond the North American mainland. This created an unusual situation where institutions in U.S.-controlled territories could be considered within the same national framework as those in the continental United States.
Within that context, Harvard University, established in 1636 and long regarded as the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States, was technically no longer the oldest under U.S. jurisdiction. That distinction shifted to the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, which had been founded in 1611 during the Spanish colonial era and predated Harvard by 25 years.
However, this “loss” of status depends entirely on how one defines the United States and its institutions. Harvard remained the oldest university within the mainland United States, while the University of Santo Tomas was part of a different historical and cultural system that only fell under American control during the Philippine-American period. Once the Philippines gained independence in 1946, Harvard resumed its uncontested position as the oldest university in the United States.
