This Insane push for AI is diluting music and skills with algorithms essentially stealing Human hard work. It has definitely caused me to turn back to older music. Even BBC is going to Youtube. A place I no longer trust because of the flood of AI music. I am scared for us.
Young people actively hate AI.
My two younger daughters are 19 and 18, both at universities - one in the UK the other in Italy. Through them, I happen to know quite a few kids their age.
And ALL OF THEM seem to universally hate AI.
To them it's "something old people invented that we now have to deal with... as if climate change wasnt enough"
AI is cringe. When they introduce me to their friends, they literally say "heyya, meet my dad, he's a software engineer but nonono, NOT IN AI, dont worry, hahah".
They hate it for flooding their social feeds with slop, ruining music, taking phone scams to the next level, also destroying careers & devaluing their hobbies - why become an architect, this skill is about to become worthless? Why learn a musical instrument if session musicians are already obsolete?
The outcome is interesting, though - they're spending less and less time on public social, meeting up IRL, moving their online lives into private group chats with actual verified friends. TikTok and Reels are increasingly cringe-something for old dudes.
Which, I guess, might be a net positive after all...
Going above and beyond for a vulnerable customer 💙
Recently, Bus Station Controller Winsome was working at Harrow Bus Station when an elderly customer approached her window and asked to buy a ticket to Athens, Greece.
Winsome quickly realised that the customer was upset and confused. After taking the time to sit and talk with her, she discovered that she couldn’t remember her postcode.
Rather than simply directing her elsewhere, Winsome went the extra mile. She accompanied the customer on a 30-minute walk home, supported her when she nearly fell, and stayed with her until she knew she was safely home.
When they arrived, the customer’s daughter spoke through the doorbell camera to thank Winsome for bringing her home safely.
The following day, Winsome arrived at work to find a handwritten card and flowers from the customer’s family. She learned that the lady had dementia, and her daughter was incredibly grateful for the kindness and care Winsome had shown.
Thank you, Winsome, for going above and beyond to support a vulnerable customer and for showing such compassion and kindness.

It promises a greener high street. But at what cost to the streets that buses will be diverted through? These places will result in more traffic and longer wait times for buses. Number 7 bus ("The Ghost Bus!") already is a long wait without diversions.
Sorry. I think this is going to be a disaster. 👎It will discourage the elderly or people with a disability from going to Oxford Street. I will have to avoid this area from now on, as it'll be more anxiety inducing than it currently is. #disabilityrights
In just a week, Oxford Street begins its transformation into a world-class, traffic-free destination for shopping, culture and leisure.
A greener, more vibrant high street that supports businesses, creates jobs and brings new opportunities for Londoners and visitors alike.

I've been listening to the Tina and Ike Turner version all this time and stopped. I'm glad that this collaboration exists. The Incredible #TinaTurner. Power and strength personified. R.I.P.
Random Thoughts of a Restless Mind: What's the bookworm alternative to describe a song stuck on repeat?

The real threat Muslim men pose to the West isn't what you think. An observant Muslim avoids the systems—drinking, gambling, interest—that exploit working people. That scares them. This isn't about religion. It's about class. We're all being played against each other while billionaires profit. Don't fall for the culture wars.

Reminds me of titanic and the orchestra who play on as the boat sinks and people drown. Hopefully this is not a foreboding sign of things to come. 🙀🤖😱🤯
La vidéo de l’orchestre du nouveau monde jouant sous les gaz lacrymogènes restera probablement l’un des plus grands symboles de la révolution du #17octobre
