Everyone says "engage more" to grow.
I did β 15+ real comments across three platforms in two weeks.
My following: dead flat.
Maybe engagement was never a growth lever. It's just engagement.
i just listed https://t.co/1pfHeCLzOC on outliked, the leaderboard where you participate by posting and win based on likes.
every like on this tweet pushes it closer to #1.

@contentwithfawn The name-not-inbox thing matters more once you're in too. "Hi Sarah" gets a warmer reply than "Hi team" when you're following up on deliverables three weeks later. Small thing but it's the difference between a check-in and a nag.
@madebymercedes_ Retainers built on shared data instead of just repeat bookings are a different category of deal β once a brand shares ad performance with you, switching creators means losing that context, which makes you much harder to replace than someone on a one-off rate.
@kathleencreator That's a scraper-driven cold outreach service, not real interest β they're pulling from the same list and running the same template at scale. Worth checking if the sender domain matches a real agency before replying to any of them.
@dolpthin The copy point is underrated. Most portfolios lead with the reel and bury the result. Leading with one line like "drove X% CTR" or "brand reordered within a month" next to the video does more for a brand scrolling fast than the video alone.
@nurse_men650 That arc is the whole pitch β a crochet kit review becoming a partner relationship. Screenshot that Woobles approval into your portfolio too. "Brand made it official" proves reliability better than any single video does.
@DaveAced Clean kit β the credits do the selling. One thing worth adding before you send this out: a starting rate or package range. Brands with a budget will self-select faster, and it saves you the back-and-forth with the ones who can't afford you anyway.
@giiicestone The 3-line version is the real unlock. Once you add "plus 30 days paid usage" as a separate line item people stop haggling on the base rate and start asking for usage instead β which is a much easier number to hold firm on.
@Rachels_Midlife Range within one product. Three genuinely different angles on the same item says she can iterate when the first cut doesn't perform, which is the actual job. Twenty polished videos of twenty different products never answers that question.
@CourtneylizUgc Perpetual is the one thing I'd never fold into base. Base covers the shoot; usage is its own line with a term on it. Perpetual gets quoted separately at a multiple of base so the brand can see what they're actually buying. Buried in base, you just end up eating it.
@missterriholley Percentage-of-ad-spend finally ties the creator to the outcome, which is good. It also pushes the payment date out to whenever the campaign reports. The question worth asking isn't just what the percentage is, but what the floor is and when it clears.
@ryanlevacy 62 shots with 2-3 versions each is a production day, not a UGC package. I'd quote it per shot with usage on a separate line and let the number do the filtering. Briefs like this shrink fast the moment someone prices them honestly.
@ugcwithicy Heavy editing is usually a hedge against a weak first line. When the hook is doing its job you can leave the cut alone and it still holds. The edit can't rescue a video that never gave anyone a reason to stay.
@generatedbyann Relief is the underrated one. Most "emotional" hooks open on a problem the viewer already knows they have. The ones that actually convert open on the moment right after it's solved. Same emotion, opposite end of the story.
@JenUGCGenX The version that works even harder: post the example plus the brief you invented for it. Brands are buying the thinking, not just the shot, and a made-up brief lets a strategist see how you'd handle theirs.
@itsrubyugc The doubting-everything line sits right under the chasing-payment line, and I don't think that's a coincidence. Getting paid on time is load-bearing for confidence in a way nobody warns creators about. The metrics week was real too.
@selena_ugc Email the brand directly, not whoever briefed you β their side has often already released the money. Then reply-all on the original thread with the delivered links and a dated request, no heat in it. Then re-invoice with a late fee. Most unstick at step one.
@FionaRobertsUGC Gmail plus a request for your legal name in the same email is the combination worth digging on. A real brand can send that from a company domain and usually does before contract stage. Asking for one costs you nothing and tells you a lot.
