@DaraghCassidy 100% agree that there should be consequences for this sort of behaviour but many of these kids have grown up in chaotic environments without the social/familial supports necessary to allow them to develop into healthy, productive members of society.

@MichaelMDowling @daveirl I think the lesson is that there are trade offs in these situations and we may need to take a more holistic approach to future pandemics. I think acknowledging that in a public forum is necessary so it's on the record and understood by the population at large.

@jasoncullenfilm @DublinCommuters I live in North Kildare. Seems like most new housing is being built around this neck of the woods! I predicted the N4 would be a disaster a few years ago and low and behold it now is. Why are we so incapable of forward planning in this country??

@katieharr1988 I'd say a lot of people are the same so it could potentially reduce than increase their overall subscription revenue as some might choose to move from general subscription to micropayments. I'm sure its the same with netflix etc.

@jasonomahony Am not angry about the budget but I would genuinely prefer to see some of the money used for infrastructure(housing, transport etc). I think this stuff will impact my quality of life more in the long run. Also concerned at the growing expectations of what gov can/should pay for.

@Seesee96 @logical_conor Lots of schools operate book rental schemes already. This won't change just because government are now funding. If anything the DoE are likely to insist that all schools have a rental scheme.

@devinecathdev @sendboyle Yeh there's also a significant cohort (my husband included!) who won't walk 1 - 2 km to the town centre. Also, in terms of service provision it's probably not the best idea to have lots of one-off rural homes so this should really be disincetivised in the future.
