@AnthonyBass52 @united Maybe instead of handing your kid an ipad she could pick up the mess herself?? Make a game out of it! "How many pieces can you pick up in one minute? Ready? Go!" Parenting is hard, but so is living in a world full of entitlement. Never too young to learn personal responsibility.

@RileyWhittney @BeccaDietor Yep! Students could earn "Smith Bucks" from jobs in class or as rewards for behavior (such as group winners or perfect attendance or turning in all homework or acts of kindness). We had "store every other week where students can buy coupons.

@Christi4schools @SanMarcosUSD @jim_desmond Of course in a perfect world we could have both. I drive from N Twin Oaks to Melrose/Alga through San Elijo Hills every day! Less traffic would be a dream! However, I've adjusted my family's morning to allow time for traffic. I'd rather see money go towards the classroom.

@Christi4schools @SanMarcosUSD @jim_desmond Honest question...wouldn't smaller class sizes be a bigger priority? With class sizes in middle/high school in the 40s, I'd much rather see the district put $ towards more hiring more teachers. It would have a more direct impact on students.
