The Department of Information and Public Relations is a government department. While it’s part of their job to post speeches of Hon. CM & Ministers on social media, the captions being added by the DIPR are political attacks on the opposition & MLAs.

These kind of political statements by a government department is unprecedented and does not bode well for parliamentary democracy.

There’s is a difference between party and government. Hope the bureaucrats don’t blur this line in a new found frenzy to please the new CM.

Hon’ble CM @actorvijay , stop using @TNDIPRNEWS as your personal PR agency. Is this the effect of @Jagadishbliss being your private secretary in the CMO?

Stalin and Co never responded to any of his hate speeches

As a result, Stalin lost in his own constituency

Vijay was in need of coalition to form government

Congress backstabbed DMK

Governor denies Vijay to form government without proving majority

Every left party except Vijay protested against it

ADMK tried to convince DMK to form the government but MKS DENIED IT AS IT IS DETRIMENTAL TO THE PEOPLE'S MANDATE

TVK sought support from CPI, CPM, VCK and IUML

IUML outrightedly denied it for the loyalty towards DMK

All the leftists went to discuss with MKS before making their decisions

All the 3 parties has extended their support towards TVK to form the government

Finally, MKS the man himself stresses Governor to let Vijay form the government

Can people in power/ authority kindly stop with this absolute BS on "fasting killing cancer cells" and citing religious nonsense to appeal to peoples emotions? Fasting is really quite dangerous for cancer patients in real life. Let me explain and bury this myth once and for all, especially for science illiterates like this guy.

[1] The most common argument is that fasting "starves" cancer by cutting off its sugar (glucose) supply. While it is true that cancer cells consume vast amounts of glucose, they are biologically aggressive survivalists.
If you stop eating, your body eventually switches to burning fat and breaking down muscle for energy. Cancer cells are highly adaptable; when glucose is low, many types of cancer can mutate to feed on other fuel sources, such as lactate, amino acids (from your muscles), or fatty acids. You cannot simply "starve" a tumor without starving the patient first.

[2] Fasting is dangerous for cancer patients because of cancer cachexia - a wasting syndrome where the body loses muscle and fat rapidly.
Cachexia is responsible for up to 30% of cancer deaths. Cancer puts the body in a hyper-metabolic state (burning energy fast). If a patient fasts, they risk accelerating muscle loss and weakening their immune system. A weak body cannot tolerate life-saving treatments like chemotherapy or radiation, nor can it fight off infections.

[3] Most claims about fasting curing cancer come from studies on mice or cells in a petri dish.
In a dish: You can kill cancer cells with almost anything (lemon juice, bleach, starvation, even shooting a bullet at it at close point or using a grenade to destroy the entire lab) because they have no immune system or body to protect them.
In a human: The biology is infinitely more complex. Human metabolism, hormonal fluctuations, and tumor micro-environments mean that what shrinks a tumor in a mouse often fails completely in human trials.

[4] Proponents often cite "autophagy" (the body's cellular recycling process triggered by fasting) as the cure. They claim it cleans out cancerous cells. Science shows that autophagy is a double-edged sword.
-In all people, autophagy is a normal physiological process - whether fasting or not, which help in cleaning up damaged cells.
-But in patients with cancer, once a tumor exists, cancer cells can actually hijack autophagy to survive stress (like chemotherapy) and repair themselves. In this context, fasting could theoretically help the cancer survive the treatment intended to kill it.

[5] "Cancer" is not one disease; it is over 200 different diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell growth.
Some cancers are driven by hormones, some by genetic mutations, and some by viruses.
A fasting protocol that slows down one specific type of breast cancer might have zero effect on pancreatic cancer, or worse, accelerate a different type.

The most lethal aspect of this misinformation is the delay in treatment. Cancer is a time-sensitive disease.
While a patient spends months trying to fast the cancer away based on religious or alternative advice, the cancer often metastasizes (spreads) to other organs. Once cancer spreads, it often moves from being curable to being terminal. Relying solely on fasting wastes the critical window where medical intervention could have saved a life.

Suggesting a single "ancient cure" for 200 complex genetic diseases is scientifically illogical...

...and generally stupid, as this video proves.

Recently spent a day in a village at a colleague's place.

The family supports #BJP.

The reason - They beleive ONLY BJP can put the Scheduled Castes /Tribes in their proper place. That is at the bottom most position in social hierarchy.

Evidence for that thought - Because BJP is against "reservation" and ONLY they will abolish it.

Because of reservation policy, the lower caste people have educated themselves better, got good jobs, rise through promotions and become respectable in society

Aspired outcome - So that a SC/ST person should never be allowed to assume equal status to the castes above them.

This equity-equality is an unacceptable outcome. This HAS to be stopped. Since BJP understands this discomfort of the upper castes, they will work towards resetting the social hierarchy is caste basis.

Incidentally, this colleague's family is from a OBC (Other Backward Caste) Community. They themselves are treated below the Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and even some of the Shudras sub castes as per the ancient social hierarchy system.

Out of curiosity, I asked them about the anti Muslim factor for supporting BJP. They insisted that relationship with Muslims were very cordial and they do not concern or bother them as far as the social hierarchy equations are concerned.The problem lies elsewhere.

Their ONLY "want" is that the SC/ST should never be allowed to climb the social ladder by education or prosperity. And they see "reservation" as the enabler that empowers this social revolution. That has to be fixed. BJP can help them achieve this goal. So they vote for BJP at Centre but regional parties in State elections.

This interaction has convinced me more about a thought that I had since long. The media hype about tension between Hindu-Muslim community is farce. This is a smoke screen by the BJP behind which they hide and actually working towards resetting the society back to the Manu days. To the harshest social order that the world has ever known.

Its the social hierarchy and its ability to subjugate lower caste people that is a compulsive 'want'. This is the jagaran/जागरण that the BJP propaganda has brought home.

BJP is just riding on this unfortunate but ancient-inherent fault line in our social ethos, and building a political career out of it.

Politicians do this.

But as a Society, we have to ask ourselves - whether we should become a progressive one and adopt values of inclusivity and equity amongst citizens, or should we disintegrate and deteriorate into a regressive one where subjugation and persecution of fellow citizens becomes the norm.
