Things to remember while buying car insurance

✅ Must have addons - Zero Depreciation, Engine Gearbox protection, Consumables, Key cover.

✅ Recommended addon for first 3-4 yrs - Return to Invoice, Engine gearbox protection is a must for people living in cities with water logging issues.

✅ Whenever there's any accidental damage, one should immediately report that to the insurer and file a claim. Old and multiple damages relating to different accidents can't be filed in 1 claim later on, this is most common reason for claim denial.

✅ Most of the insurance companies allow only 2 claims to be filed under Zero Dep benefit, a few companies don't have such limitation and allow as many claims. Prefer unlimited Zero Depreciation claim policy.

✅ Whenever buying a second hand car - always buy insurance immediately after the vehicle ownership is transferred, as the old insurance in previous owners name isn't valid unless transferred. Claims will not be paid if the new owner doesn't hold insurance in his name.

✅ While selling your old car, one can retain the NCB and use that benefit in a new car within the next 3 yrs.

✅ Buying insurance from outside is much cheaper and better , especially while buying a new car you can save 50-60% on the insurance as dealerships often overcharge.
