The World Cup has turned America into a discovery channel for the rest of the world.
And they are not handling it well.
In the best possible way.
Here is what they are discovering:
Free public restrooms. Europeans pay every time.
Free water at every restaurant. Just appears.
Free refills. Coffee. Sodas. Iced tea. Unlimited.
Free chips and salsa before you even order.
Free warm bread with dinner.
Ice in drinks like civilized people.
Air conditioning everywhere. Not a moral debate. A fact.
Parking lots attached to the actual place you are going.
Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it.
Ranch dressing by the gallon.
Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced.
Dental care that actually works.
Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s.
Then they found the grocery stores.
Five of them within one mile.
Each one the size of an aircraft hangar.
Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday.
The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes.
In silence.
Processing.
They finally understand why we do not have trains.
We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive.
Parking lots the size of small European countries.
Airports in every city worth visiting.
Why would we need trains.
The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle.
The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak.
The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre.
The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas.
Welcome to America.
Everything is free, enormous, air conditioned, comes with chips, and has five grocery stores within a mile that will sell you any cut of any animal you have ever imagined.
Write that down. 🦋
The fact that we are having a hard time throwing America a 250th birthday party because leftists are threatening to kill everyone involved is the most zeitgeist shit I’ve ever seen in my life
RFK Jr. reveals FDA officials admitted they literally do not know how many chemicals are in the American food supply.
“When I came in, I asked FDA, ‘How many chemicals are in our food?’”
“They said, ‘We don’t know.’”
“‘We don’t have a list of them.’”
“It’s somewhere between 4,000 and 12,000.”
“In Europe, they only have 400 chemicals in their food.”
“The 9,600 extra ones that we have are all illegal there.”
Kyle and I had a really challenging existence for many years. But we luckily took the time to figure out our differences and that was something he instigated with a conversation in his bus around how we each managed our racing teams. I was super eager for us to get on better terms. But it was he who made the effort for that to be possible. We did some media together also to laugh through some of the things we put each other through many years ago. Most recently we had even been discussing him running my Late Model at Wilkesboro this summer. He seemed extremely happy and we had planned to meet up next Thursday to get his seat to the shop. He laughed over the idea of his fans and JRM fans having to cheer in unison during that race.
Kyle was one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. No one can deny that. But he was also a father, a husband, brother, son, and a friend to many. My heart is broken for the Busch family. I will never be able to make sense of this loss but I am thankful that we had found a way to become friends.
I am loving this #VGK super villain arc that is forming in the playoffs this year. The league gives a wacky 1 game suspension for McNabb's hit, so the new coach John Torrorella snubs the media again, sending out a few players to talk with the media, but only for 10 minutes, because the buses were leaving then. LMAO.
He was like F the 100,000 fine.... and if the Knights win the Cup, who cares about the forfeited second round pick. We are so good we don't even need the pick.
Haters hate away! #vegaslocals
The comments by reporters endorsing the cold-blooded murder of a husband and father are absolutely reprehensible. No decent human being should be celebrating or justifying the execution of another person because they disagree with his business practices or politics. The normalization of this kind of rhetoric is dangerous and morally bankrupt.
What makes this even more disturbing is that some of the individuals making these statements hold official NYC press credentials. Press passes exist to provide legitimate journalists access to scenes, events, and restricted areas so they can inform the public, not so radical activists can masquerade as members of the media while promoting extremism and political violence.
Over the past several years, we have repeatedly seen individuals carrying press credentials using them during demonstrations and events to harass police officers, intimidate members of the public, interfere with law enforcement operations, and shield activist behavior behind the label of “journalism.” That undermines the credibility of legitimate reporters and creates serious public safety concerns.
After hearing from multiple reporters with decades of experience reporting in NYC, before I left office, my administration was going through the process of rewriting the rules governing NYC press credentials to strengthen standards, protect the integrity of the press corps, and prevent political activists posing as journalists from obtaining official credentials and the access that comes with them. As your own publication reported, those proposed reforms were going through the rule-making process before being scrapped by the current administration:

That decision was reckless. Official press credentials should not be handed out in a way that allows extremists to abuse them while hiding behind the credibility and protections afforded to legitimate journalism.
This needs to change, and it needs to change now.
MASSIVE CONTROVERSY UNFOLDING IN LYON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT IN NEVADA
A teacher allegedly grabbed two students by the neck and attacked them
The mother claims the school didn’t contact the parents or police and instead just sent the teacher home
She’s the one who had to call police who then placed him under arrest
What’s going on in @lyoncsd?!
I went to the White House Correspondents Dinner for one reason.
Too many journalists have done everything they can to dehumanize me for months, and I wanted to look them in the eye.
Every communist response to a communist act of violence is some version of, “Hey everyone needs to tone things down but also this is kind of your fault and also you kind of deserve it.”
Because they’re not sorry. They want these things to happen. There will be no changes.
I’m skeptical of foreign intervention but if there’s already been eleven world wars then I think we might as well do one more and make it an even dozen. Eleven is just a weird number to end on.
