@TexasMagnolia2@NateNewsNow I suspect they feel they have enough to convict without “opening the door”. Then, if/when Lori appeals, she would have one less point to argue on for mistrial/retrail. Make no mistake, I wish they would open it too, but (I think) I understand the logic of the prosecution.
@MayhemMonza@pandemik0@SalvMattera This. Exactly. My 11 YO is “functional”, but nowhere near the same level as pre-long COVID infection Aug 2022. For the year after it was really bad. Still fatigues quickly. Pediatrician keeps trying write it off as puberty. No long COVID clinics will see them.
@CarolAnneGraha4 Unfortunately, yes. My father (60s) got COVID flying home late Feb 2020 (unconfirmed b/c he didn’t meet criteria for testing at that time, but was very sick for 3+ wks). Kidney fcn declined over time and was diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis.
@thinkoutloud82@aaronhoyland Yup. 2 kiddos & I also work in a school. So. Much. Illness.
My youngest missed 30% of the school year (strongly believe she has long COVID from an Aug ‘22 infection). She chose to mask with an N95 during periods & still got sick, b/c no 1 else was 😔
@aaronhoyland After 2 days of back to school my youngest got very sick with either COVID that is not showing on a rapid test, or the flu (but symptoms track more closely to COVID). Now all 4 of us have had it over the course of this week. Good times 😖 My worry was valid :/
Feeling very disheartened to hear public health officials repeatedly say things that are demonstrably wrong. So, for those who care about their health, and others:
1) Respirator masks protect you from wildfire smoke

@klaszus I’m so, so sad about this. Loved to browse and buy books, & purchase most of our birthday gifts there. It was visibly in decline since Starbucks left, and I was concerned this was coming. Didn’t hear about the official closure until very recently & couldn’t make it in since then.
@LeahMFraser @alisoncassis1 Same, but it was one of my oncologists about a year or so ago. I already have Celiac Disease and problems with reflux since chemo shredded my digestive system lining :/ No thank you.
@gringlegriff@cspotweet As far as I can tell you can’t get the CBE (Calgary Board of Education) I go here in AB either. So many kids sick, including all of our family.
@Buchanan_MD @RajBhardwajMD Yes, sounds like the same illness. It is awful! Thought I was improving and then last night chills and body aches again. Cough hurts in bronchi & throat. Got flu vaccine last Sunday, but obviously a little too late :/
“Cannot redeploy more staff without a PH order, so relying on colleagues to volunteer.”
Journalists, do you understand this part? The issue goes beyond the urgent need for PH measures. Since leaders refuse to declare a PH emergency, HC ressources can’t be redeployed to help.
