@DOMfay@MichaelWhiting A big thank you for the year of Roar Deal podcasts. I am a 68 year old academic who started barracking for Fitzroy in 1962, and have usually been a lone Lions supporter. Your podcast (my favourite one!) has brought a sense of community. Thanks again.
#alzchat Evaluating Engagement in Technology-Supported Social Interaction by People Living with Dementia in Residential Care https://t.co/oK8FhpjR4g via @acmtochi MT

We focused on the generation of positive emotions in the process and on understanding how to adapt the social robot to specific contexts. People were surprised when they saw Kira using a walker, and the Man's shed group wanted to see Kira sitting on the chair they made for her.
We explored different interaction scenarios with older adults and investigated how we could introduce and finally engage them with a social robot. The knitting group made some lovely costumes for the robot that they named Kira :)
In this book chapter, we present four case studies that support the design of beneficial and meaningful experiences with technologies for older adults. Here is the link:

How do we introduce robots in older people’s lives? How can we promote meaningful and beneficial interactions for older adults with emerging technologies? We explored these questions with our team from @Swinburne's : Sonja Pedell, Kathy Constantin and @swinfict

Great round of Cards for the Future today. Thanks Prof Leon Sterling @swinfict, Assoc Prof Paul Cooper @longboardfella, @noon_silk for playing -"In a future that is HOPEFUL. There is a PUBLIC SERVICE. Related to POLITICS.
My colleague @swinfict found this newspaper clipping from 25 years go, discussing the huge benefits of having real clients in our software engineering capstone projects. 25 years later, and this still holds true! We still do this for penultimate and final-year projects.
ICYMI I moderated a panel on the COVIDSafe App @Pearcey_org discussing techs role in combatting the spread of coronavirus especially now as restrictions ease it’s the next line of defense. It’s a matter of #trust#privacy, #security and #adoption https://t.co/oWqSsK6qEe
